bmx street. and skate street. seems like the most creative. i really dig inventive lines.
but alas i live somewhere i can’t get cable, and my gf is without for about another week.

BMX flatland… since last year not an event on the X-games anymore. So drop your illusions about unicycling.
Martti Kuoppa was the last winner of it in 2003. I probably will see him in action again in the next month.
One of the very first people I learned to know in BMX is being judge on the x-games for years.
All of it… Although I like BMX/MTX over skate boarding stuff. freestyle vert right now. Dave Mirra just crashed, his gold-plated bike probally weighed him down.
Yeah…then this other guy crashed…forgot his name…and knocked him out. They got a stretcher but don’t know if they will use it or not. Commercial right now.
I like the gold plated bike but i figured it WOULD be heavy.
EDIT: word just in. Dave Mirra quits vert so he can be healthy enough to compete in street and best trick.

Their bikes are heavy anyways. They’re mostly steel and overbuilt otherwise they wouldn’t be able to take the abuse.
A gold plated bike wouldn’t be heavier than a chrome plated bike or a nickel plated bike. And would be only a little bit heavier than a regular painted bike. The weight difference is probably insignificant given the overall weight of the bike.
A gold or chrome bike isn’t good for TV. His bike didn’t show up very well against the background and the lights. The bike just gets lost.
I wonder if he will be using the gold bike for street?
They say the gold plated bike is worth $7500. Likely that is due to it being all custom. It’s more than just the frame that is gold plated. Most of the little parts are gold plated too. For $7500 you can get yourself a run of the mill Tour de France bike.
I gotta friend you has VIP tickets for the big air mega ramp skateboard thing, where the guys fly 60 feet through the air, and since the Staples Center is jut 20 minutes away, I think I gotta see that one in person.
That Freestyle Moto X crash last night looked bad. How did that guy walk away from that with only a buggered shoulder??

Danny Way has a bum ankle from his attempts at jumping the Great Wall. We’ll have to see how well he’ll be for big air on Sunday. He’s been walking with a cane. He says he’ll be good to go for the big air competition.
I saw the motox stuff and I saw travis pastranas front wheel and handle bars fall off after he tried that barspin backlip thing. It was really cool tonight ill prolly watch the whole thing.

I watched recaps of the moto x best trick yesterday (or was it 2 days ago?) and i found it rather boring. It seems like all the moto X guys just do variations of backflips. I know backflips are really hard but it gets kind of boring.
Last years X-games moto-X best trick (first place) was awesome because it was new and orginial. He (dont remember the guys name) let go of the bike and did a barrel roll in the air without touching the bike at all and then got back on. Maybe its just me, but i like the tricks where do they do handstands (kiss of death? is that name?) and when they let go totally of the bike (nothing?).
I prefer skateboarding over the moto cross or bmx stuff, but i will watch anything.

not very visually apealing to non uniers… they dont have the big air oooo and aahhh like the other things…and they dont have bike trials so why have uni trials…
