wrist pain from learning to hop

Hi,

When I was recently trying to learn how to hop, I learned the hard way that I was holding the seat (miyata) the wrong way.
I held it with all fingers(right hand) under the front of the seat handle. This of course, put my wrist at a wierd angle. After pulling up for 30 minutes like this, I got a pain on the right side of my wrist and lower arm. I am guessing it is at the base of the skinnier bone in my arm. I now get a pain when I rotate it - as when you turn the key in a door.

Anyone ever had a similar problem?

Did it completely heal and how long did it take? If age is an issue, I am 40.

If worse comes to worse, I can always learn the skill with my left(non- dominant hand).

Thanks

Yes, I have heard ppl mention that injury. Take it easy for a week.

You should also learn to hop handlessly – then you can jump rope.
