Wow! Ringo not very happy!

I know he’s a busy guy, but not much fan gratitude here: He seems really pissed! Maybe somebody had sent him something through the mail that made him upset enough to say, “NO MORE!”

The head line “Love me don’t” caught my eye as MSN loaded after I logged out of Hotmail.

I can see his point. How many of us still answer our fan mail after all these years?

Quit stalking me, Steve.

Yeah I can understand that, it’s just that with all the love and adulation heaped upon him by his countless fans from around the globe…well, I think he should have at least thanked everyone for their undying devotion. Would have been a nice gesture. The way he did it just makes him look ungrateful and mean.

Here’s part of that article:

<Ringo Starr doesn’t want to hear from you. If you do write, your letter will end up in the trash. That’s the message from Richard Starkey, aka Ringo Starr. After 45 years of stardom, he doesn’t want to spend any more time answering mail or sending signed photos back to fans. The fan fatigue led the former Beatles drummer to post a sometimes angry sounding short video clip on his Web site telling fans that any mail sent to him after Oct. 20 will not be read or answered. British television stations broadcast the video on Tuesday.>

You Tube is blocked on my work PC, I’ll have to check out the vid once I get home.

Well duh. Its Ringo. The Beatles. Thats what they were all about. Being ungrateful and mean.

   Lol, but obviously you are either joking or thinking of the Stones!

Could it be both? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm, I dont think ill ever tell my fans to stop. I dont have many right now, but I do have some fans and appreciate the few of them for liking what I do. I can see how it could be hectic though.

I really appreciate mine too-and always answer-every email, PM and all messages I receive!

I’ve watched the vid. I didn’t find it so much angry as factual. Besides, he said “Peace and Love!”, how can there be any anger in that? If someone says “Peace and Love” before and after a statement it is clearly factual and not in anger or malice. For example:

[PEACE AND LOVE]You’re a jerk![/PEACE AND LOVE]. See? That wasn’t so offensive now, was it?

I didn’t think you had noticed. I suppose then I shouldn’t tell you the real reason for holding on to your Nanoraptor all these years.

It’s the Simpsons fault that he gets so much fan mail.

I tried in vain to find that video on youtube!:frowning:

“But in England, we call then chips”. :sunglasses:

Here you go my good American friend.

What’s the relevance of the date?

Cool! Funny thing is, I searched youtube under that exact title, and nothing came up for me!:o

He kind of sounds like a pretentious douche bag. And the way he says peace and love is extremely annoying.

TIME Magazine summed it up well when they said something like:

“Ringo Starr asks his fans to stop sending him any more fan mail, in an attempt to generate more fan mail.”

In other words, he’s been in the business long enough to know how these things work. If he wanted publicity, just say something like that. If he really doesn’t want fan mail any more, which would probably be impossible, just kindly tell the fans you can’t reply to it anymore.

He’s the oldest Beatle. I guess he’s earned the chance to be ornery.

Ringo:

Your point is?

To me, the quote above is either a ploy to generate publicity, or a careless act, like the drunk David Hasselhof eating that hamburger on his floor. One of those things you say or do, on video, and that then gets posted online.

Either way, I’ll stay a fan of Ringo and the boys, and acknowledge that he had/has more talent than he gives himself credit for.

I’m sure he’ll be shattered when he finds out he annoyed you.
