Well after 5 years and enduring alot of pain, i stopped taking the medicine they gave me and decided willpower was the way. With the help of my grandmas medicine. I can now walk like everyone else. (if you don’t believe me ask Iride when he comes online) But still with the torment of that day that sometimes, i can’t even sleep.
Also my riding has improved, if you have been reading carefully, you’ll see that i smashed my own coker record. So technically that would benefit my riding.
2 days ago I fractured my shin. Straight up from my ankle to my knee is a .25" fracture. When the metal pedals hit my shin it hurt, but I mean my scarred legs attest to my cheapness in shin guards. After after it happened I looked into the wound and saaw my shin bone. The doc pulled several fragments out of it. This injury happened at 8:00pm. I stopped riding at 11:30pm. Though I doubt that I will ride again for 1-2 weeks. And then after that I wont do tricks till I buy some KH shin guards after I heal enough to do tricks again.
I got stress fractures accross my entire left foot.
I sprained my ankles a few times.
Bruised the back of my pelvis.
Broke the 3rd metacarple in my left hand.
And in a non-uni injury I ran into my best friend and had his front teeth chip off into my skull. That made lots of blood!
My dad knows a guy who is a friend of a guy of a girl who’s second cousin knows a kid who’s balls fell off because of loss of circulation on a unicycle. Hes dead now, all his organs fell out when they chopped off his balls so he didnt get gang green, he lived in the world war, was a drummer/unicycle boy.
hey, i know his sister actually. I was unicycling down the state street hill at purdue and she was walking down the wrong side of the street and I didnt see her until I ran into her and fell. anyway thats how i lost my virginity in a unicycling accident.
Ouch…broke my ankle doing a 360 crankflip down some stairs…on saturday…oh and one time i tripped a girl, on accident while in XC, and her nail was shoved all the way back to her joint…
I broke my foot the other day. I call it a uni accident but it really wasn’t. I dropped in on a half pipe and made it and all that was fine. I dismounted and when I did I stepped off the ramp onto the concrete which was a 2" drop. Rolled my ankle and ended up breaking the whole side of my right foot.
owch… that sucks… I was attempting to hand wheel walk(I was learning how while waiting for a bus today) and I took my helmet off because it was getting hot, I ended up leaning too far forward whellwalking down a hill and fell off and bonked my head… still kinda hurts but I have a hard head so it’s ok…
How about worst injury to the vehicle? I landed pretty hard on a 25 foot free fall on my motorcycle and 1) Broke the frame in half 2) made big flat spots on both rims and 3) broke the center bar on my handle bars and bent them down like a set of cafe bars. Pit riding too fast is hard on bikes.
Snowboard - broken tailbone atleast twice, fractured it a bunch
skiis - screw up my ankle every now and then, just from like doing rails, also landed really hard on my thigh the other day, and also bruised my wrist badly off of box, i knew what i was doing, but i was too slow
unicycle - screwed up both my wrists, and ankles sometimes, also cuts and scrapes. I had like a 3 8’’ gashes on my back right leg from a slip, and newly a few scrapes my my left pedal, and a bruised knee from my frame (i tried to no foot in the snow lol)
desk chair as of 5 minutes ago - badly damaged ego
Seriosuly sprained my left wrist 3 weeks ago, and still nursing the injury. Starting to get rather tired of the pain associated with it.
Was doing some single track downhill MUni, got to a burm-drop and my wheel snagged on a branch sticking out at the top of the drop. I went straight over down a 3 foot drop straight into the burm bank. Happened so quickly I didn’t even realise that I had stuck my hand out to break the fall, and landed on my hand knocking my wrist.
Went to the hospital to have x-rays taken, nothing seems broken but it’s still quite sore after 3 weeks. The doc that saw me was proably the coolest docter I have met. He kept calling me Dude and was excited that I had been MUnicycling, then wanted to buy my old learner Uni.
Haven’t done any MUni since although I have been doing some road riding and skills practice, as much as my wrist can take.
I severely sprained my ankle a few weeks ago and it is only now back to normal. I went to the doctor and had it x-rayed. The cool thing was that when the doc asked how i did it and i told him that I fell off my unicycle, he said he used to ride one and his kids teach circus stuff somewhere. I wish i had asked where so I could maybe have learned some other cool tricks (but at the time the pain was to much to concentrate on having a normal conversation). He was a good doc but crappy at steering a wheelchair. He wheeled me over to the x-ray section and kept crashing into everything making the pain worse. He then did the same on the way back. If he could control a wheelchair i don’t know how he ever rode a unicycle. LOL
Well I guess I can post these pics of my sprained ankle and foot.
Should have seen it when purple was in full effect, haha.
…Pictures are about 1.5 to 2 weeks after it had happened.
I did this grinding a handrail at a skate park, or should I say falling off a handrail… anyway, the doc told me Ida been better off if I broke it and I was a sucker for going to the ER.
I was on crutches for a little over 2 weeks, and couldn’t ride for a little over 2 months… took 3 months before it was well enough that I wasn’t limping at the end of a day of ridding. Its been almost 6 full months now and I still do not have full range of motion. Ive been told it should be pretty much as good as it will get in another 2 months if I keep exercising it. Luckily cycling is good for sprained ankles tho botched flip tricks tend to feel quite the opposite.
This was for sure the worst injury I have suffered. The pain from a bad sprain is said to be one of the worst and I can see why.
