I’m going to have an award ceremony that reflects who the best person on unicyclist.com is. i didn’t say best unicyclist. Wjat I mean is people who have helped out the out other unicyclists. You also should post here alot to get the award.
So start nominating people (it can’t be your self. You have to wait for someone else to nominate you.)
I’ll get a poll in anopther thread once we have a few nominees.
Gerblefranklin because he always writes a lot of good stuff, and Andrew Carter again because he writes a lot of good stuff and seems to always be happy.
Why don’t you have award categories, but that can be the main one at the end. ie coolest video, best male rider, best female rider and such.
You could make a list number them 1 to whatever and everyone makes a post voting who they think/what they think should win each category. Sure it’s a little harder to count up but does make it more interesting.
andrew carter, cuz he’s always happy and modest, and jc, because he knows everything. seriously. i dare you to ask him about underwater-basket-weaving or banana-slugs, im sure he’d have plenty to share
I nominate
Mikefule
Cyberbellum
Klaas Bil
Joemarshall
Because they all provide really useful information for the benefit of other people on this forum, and ask questions that help find more detailed answers to seriously technical questions.
Since J_C is an alien, he very well may. I was actually seconding the nomination. I would also like to nominate JJuggle for his ablility to bring levity and humor to this forum. Not to mention that he has one snappy tattoo. He may have others, but I only know of one.
The folks that I would want to nominate are already in. (In fact just recently a somewhat similar award was assigned to John Childs, see this thread.)
So now to increase the pool to choose from for the “Worm award” (would anybody fancy getting an award by that name?), I nominate phil and uni57, mostly but not exclusively for their absurd sense of humour.
I don’t know anything about underwater basket weaving. But I do know a thing or two about slugs as far as they relate to unicycling. We’ve got a few variety of slugs here in the Pacific Northwest. We’ve got the banana slug, tiger slug, black slug, and a few others. The key thing to remember about slugs and unicycling is that you do not, and I repeat you do not, want to run over a slug while unicycling. Their sluggy remains stick to your tire for many many many revolutions and every time it goes around you run the risk of rubbing your leg on that part of the tire. Yuck! Even when wearing Roach leg armour it’s a yucky gross experience. It has happened to me a few times. I do my best to make sure it never happens again.
