Duluth, MN, nearing the end of the ski season, it was a small trip. It was around -20 that day, and flatlight all day. It sucked for skiing, since i also did not know the terrain park as well. Minus the fact i hit one of the big air jumps, pulling a tail grab, anyway, heres about half hour before we went there the second day: (lift bridge in the background, cool place, i wanna ride there this summer)
ahh… i love just going out to the hill around 9:30am, when they open or so, and staying til around 10 when they close… THOSE are the days. Doing park freestyle ALL day, from the times when theres only 1 chairlift open, so you have to treck your way across over half the hill to make it to the park, then the times when the hil is sooo packed that idiots over strain the rope tow, so it stops. THAT is fun… And then also being a skier, one of the about 3 freestylers there on any given day, so you can just unclip and walk up the hill ahead of a whole group of people…
Oh, also the days when i try rails. (i can do 90 onto a rail, and railslide REALLY smoothly and accurate, i just dont like falling), and then when i fall on the rails, and i leave huge dirt marks from the rail on my white sweat shirt… ahh…
i love the coldness of winter but here in westernish oregon all it does is rain. i wish it snowed. that’s why i wanna move to alaska. it’s cold and i love it.
Winters are pretty poor in the uk. When it snows it’s never deep and it turns to slush pretty quick. It rains far too much as well which makes unicycling generally muddy and rubbish. Summers are much better.
oh they’re really not, I’ve been to Sydney in mid winter, 10° C and everyone’s going round with a coat on, crazy.
When I was a kid we used to get snow for about a week in winter, around December, I can remember being stuck in the house for days. These days we get one or two days of snow, in febuary.
It snowed here for… about from september? to … april?
i mean, there were some off days, but it still snowed that much.
Woo… in the end, it was getting up to like 70 degrees for like 3 days, then it would get to below freezing for like 5, and snow a bunch, then go back up to 70.
Well, i’m happy, it hasnt been getting below 50 or 60 for a long while.
