Ussually I wear the roach under my jeans, or other riding pants.
I usually wear my 661s outside my trousers. How do you fit them underneath? My trousers aren’t that wide…
Phil, just me
I wear my Roach armour outside of my Samurai riding pants. As my uni friend pointed out, better to have the armour take the hit, that’s what its made for, than grind a hole in the pants…

I generally wear Roach downhill pants for the winter with the pads built into the pants. If it’s not that cold I’ll sometimes wear the armour on the outside of some nylon pants.
I cant fit the bloody things outside my pants, my legs are too big. I have some really loose pants that work great for this. I have to put hte roach on before the pants though…
Phil calls them trousers!
heh trousers… ya i found if i’m wearing “baggy” pants my 661’s can fit undernieth… if not i’ll just put em on top
I’m not superman, I wear my trousers outside of my pants, rather than the other way round…
Phil, just me
If I’m commuting, I wear the Roach armor over my jeans. If I’m out on a muni or urban ride, I wear shorts and Roach armor. I usually stay really warm while muni_ing in the winter, so shorts work great.
Mojoe
In the winter I still wear shorts with my Roach pads. The Roach are so blazin’ hot I’ve never wanted any additional insulation in the form of pants (trousers).

For me cold weather is all about layers:
Layer 1 - riding shorts
layer 2 - long thermals
layer 3 - neoprene leg sleeves
layer 4 - roach leg armor
layer 5 - regular shorts
I wear a pair of long thermal underwear with a neoprene leg sleeve on
each leg, a pair of shorts and my roach leg armor over the neoprene.
It’s quite warm and the neoprene prevents the roach armor from creeping
down.

Jason, maybe you should quantify what sort of temperature is “cold
weather” for you.

Good point…
It’s really only three layers on a per body area basis. My legs are
covered in the thermals, neoprene sleeves, and Roach armor. My mid
section is covered in cycling shorts, thermals and regular shorts.
The temperature I have been riding in currently ranges from about
30F/-1C to 45F/7C. Right now the temperature is 36F/2C. It will be
colder soon.
On my upper body I like wearing layers which can easily be added and
removed as needed. Typically, I wear a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt and a
light sweater. On cooler rides I have abandoned my helmet in favor of a
warm cap.
Cheers,
Jason

Looks like you’re set for a ‘cool’ injury.
