Hi there,
I’ve been trying to make a movie in WMM. However, when I try to save it as the movie itself, I just get the message “An error occurred while creating this movie. Please try again.”
Of course, trying again did not work. The movie plays fine: the only possible reason for the error that I can see is that I am using 2 30-second-or-so AVI clips that have three parts each, all rotated with many parts rotated in different ways within VirtualDub. The AVI files are uncompressed, making them 120mb each.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Calum.
ok, after experimenting with different movies and pictures, it looks like i can’t save any movies: i just keep on getting the same error message.
has anyone got any ideas?
cheers,
Calum
Howdy!
I use WMM when Premiere won’t import the avi files off my camera.
It is good but has problems.
Whenenver you’ve worked with it, it saves all of your used files into its memory (collections)
Try deleting everything from its memory (colections) but don’t delete anything off your pc, just WMM Collections.
Then re-import just the files you are going to use.
It might work! If you’ve already tried this then I don’t know!
T.
P.S to your username I say: “I heard you the first time!”
I have had problems with that too. If you accidentally delete one thing out of your collections that you are using in the movie it wont let you save any of it. If you dont know if the .avi files will work just take them out and see if it saves just as a test, if it still doesnt work you have another problem.
Check out WindowsMovieMakers.NET for help on WMM. They’ve got tips, tutorials, FAQs, and a forum. They’ll be able to get you sorted.
Nope - I’ve tried deleting all of the collections, and fiddling with them in every way possible, but no luck.
WMM.net gives veeerry little support for the WMM that comes with Windows ME. Its all about XP with them.
Thanks for all your help, but I don’t think there’s much hope.
Calum.
I had forgotten that Windows ME had an older version of WMM.
You might want to try the Zwei-Stein Video Editor. It’s a freeware application. I haven’t tried it yet but it is on my list of things to try when I get around to it. Looks good based on the features listed. Version 3.01 should work with Windows ME.
Cheers, I’ll give it a go.
You’re implying that you’ve been able to get Windows ME to run long enough to actually open an application… I’m amazed that OS can even boot.
As to your problem… I have very very little experience with MM… you might be running out of memory or swap space… try closing out all those worthless little icons by your clock and see if that makes a difference… by the way, what are your computer’s specs?
Dave
Can you run Zwei-Stein on windows XP? Does anybody have any expierence using this program? is it hard to use?
