Will not be unicycling for a while

I just found out that i have testicular cancer and they said that i can not ride
for a good four weeks minimum. I am wondering if anyone else has had this
problem and what they went through. I can not wait to get back on my uni. This
was really upsetting news. David Riley

Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France.

DO NOT take risks. If you’re only off the uni for four weeks (or so), count
yourself lucky. What you have is a potentially fatal cancer, and if your
prognosis is that positive, it sounds like you’re in good shape for many years
of unicycling afterward.

I wish you the best of success with your treatment and a long life of
good health.

Re: Will not be unicycling for a while

Gee whiz, David, that’s serious! Our thoughts and prayers will be with you as
you go through this. I haven’t been through this but as I understand it, while
you’re undergoing treatment, you won’t have a whole lot of energy to do
anything. If you MUST ride, consider recumbant bicycling for a while - but focus
yourself on getting better and beating this thing.

You know Lance Armstrong had testicular cancer then went on to win the Tour 'de
France last year. Here’s his site http://www.lancearmstrong.com/ There was also
a great article in the Nov '99 issue of Bicycling magazine with a nice
interview.

Hang in there! Remember, unicycling won’t matter one iota if the cancer beats
you! Unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot YOU can do to beat it - let the
doc’s take care of that. But don’t let it come between you and your family
and friends.

Take care,

Brian Berlin
