Will it ever stop snowing here?

I’m a student at the University of Oswego in New York…which is along the shore of Lake Ontario. As anyone else who lives hear a huge body a water knows, that means Lake Effect Snow. Growing up downstate, I’ve never seen anything like this. I had a 4 day weekend thanks to class cancellations. The storm really started this monday, with temperatures of -15 to -25 Farhenheit, wind gusts up to 40mph, and A LOT of snow. It has continued snowing on and off since then. We currently have about 65" of snow. The advisory has been continued through tomorrow. The faitful weatherman predicts a 5 day total accumulation of 100" (Thats over 8 freaking feet of snow).

Anyway, i took some footage during the earlier stages of the storm. It’ll probably be entertaining to you. Enjoy.

No. It is actually going to snow from now till the dusk of time.

CRAP :astonished:

So who’s that girl in the beginning? She’s a looker!

heh, yea i’m not actually dating her…but in time i think i will be.

ya

Nice. I like how you (or who I assume was you) body slammed her multiple times. Nothing says “BOO YAH/I Love YOu” like a faceful of snow.

Why bother even posting this?

You guys aren’t gunna let it go that i made the title of this thread a rhetorical question are you?

Maybe maybe not. lol

in december we got a huge amount of snow in london over night almost everything was closed…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l-rW2QewoE (not my video just one that i found that shows how much snow we got in such little time)

now why can’t we get snow like that in Maine where it would be useful! It’s probably just nuisance there. I’d like to SKI all that snow!

Idk much about the skiing in this area because i typically ski upstate and in Vermont…but yea, i don’t think snow making is a frequent process in ski resorts here.

We got snow for the first time this year today, about 6 inches in total, I dropped the coker tyre pressure right down and took it out on the roads, much more stable than a bike on the ridged ice and crusted snow.

I just saw Oswego on the news, MSNBC.

My wife grew up in the area.

Get used to it. (Not that my wife grew up in the area, but the snow.)

Stop moaning and get your muni out!
It’s really good fun riding in snow - and much safer than a bike as kington mentioned. We had a bit last night (3 inches or so) but it was all but gone by the time I was riding to work :frowning:

Rob

Hahaha.

I did get my uni out, what kinda unicyclist do you take me for?!

Kinda funny story actually, it was my first time riding in HEAVY snowing conditions, with a couple inches on the plowed sidewalks. I got on and started riding…hit a bump and actually fell to my stomach. How often does that actually happen to a unicyclist? So i went to get back on, and the tire immediately slipped out and i reenacted the exact same fall. A guy then yelled out the window of my building, “I saw that!!!hahahahahaha.” But, I got the hang of it. You have to jump mount the uni.

We had a lot of snow october and november, but it’s been pretty sparse lately. We have none now (well, some patches of snow, but that doesn’t count.)

Which is rare for Montana… It sucks.

Sounds like you don’t get snow very often were you live. :stuck_out_tongue:
