This one’s really directed at Dave, being a djembe owner himself, but any other djembe owners feel free to help out…

Dave,

Does your djembe malt at all? Mine’s losing big chunks of it’s beautiful hair and I don’t like it. It’s Autumn at the moment so the weather’s not too extreme. Any help?

i haven’t had the problem with my djembe but i’ve had it with two smaller drums
all i can think of is the treatment of the skin before being used on the drum
i’m quite blank on what to suggest
i’m gonna go googling to see if i can come up with something
