Wearing a hat? I want to wear a hat but I just can not seem to pull it off. I’ve tried a bunch of different ways to make it look better but it simply wont. The thing is, I have styled my hair hair with gel for the past 4 straight years and im not even used to no styling it. I went to school and I felt just so uncomftorable. Maybe you guys can relate? Thoughts? I’ll post pics in a few min…
Post some pics and we’ll tell you.
you also have to be able to stand up against “the character” a hat imposes on you.
Cant tonight. will do first thing tomorrow
hehehe, >: 3 I want to see this now
You might be a bit too concerned about what you look like. Look the way you want to look, and don’t let others determine what’s right for you.
I know, that can be an almost alien concept when you’re a teenager…
I was going to wait to post until you posted some pictures, like this, but whatever:
Maybe it’s just the hat you’re wearing
You can’t even see your own face, so your appearance is for other people’s benefit, not your own…
Of course, they’re probably not nearly as concerned about it as you are, though.
You’re using too much gel before you put your hat on.
It’s obvious why you can’t pull it off. It’s glued to your hair.
Haha, the funny thing is, I actually do own that hot dog hat.
You just answered you own question.
If you wear those “New Era” hats that would be the problem they are the stupidest akward looking hats in my opion anyway.
Hello,
i’ve had short haircuts and gel-styled hairs for years also. Due to a problem with my right eye (blind) and the fact that both eyes aren’t moving similar in the directions, i’ve let my hair grow last year, cause i was so tired about people asking, if something is wrong with my eyes.
My new hairstyle is pretty different, cause i’ve only let the front hair grow and also only at the right side. Now half of my face is covered by hair (especially my “bad” eye) and if somebody talks to me, he’s only able to look at half of my face :D. Wearing a hat, the hair-style looks pretty cool in my opinion, i like it a lot and had to recognize how many idiots live in the world (almost anyone tries to figure out what ugly looking wound might be hiding behind the hair :D) and how important the “look” for some people is.
With no hat wearing, it looks a bit weird, but oh well, i don’t care much anymore or put on my hat.
Everything was new at the beginning, that’s just normal, especially cause anyone else knows you with the old hair-style or without hat. But you’ll get used to it and if YOU like it (which is the most important thing), the opinions of others are equal.
In my younger years, i went to school in leather trousers, jacket, shoes and also a very old hat. I loved my clothes a lot more than the people laughing about me, so i didnt care about being alone most of the time. Those you like your character, will like you always, no matter what you wear or how you look. Those you can call real friends. Anyone else is ready to get a seat in your “not worth to keep the friendship”-trashcan :D.
Cheers

Go old-school.
Get a derby or a bowler or similar.
Remember a hat is correctly worn tipped forward from the horizontol just slightly, and tipped to one side of the horizontal just slightly.
It needs a bit of an angle to do it justice.
“It’s a fedora. Indiana Jones has one.”
Maybe add a satchel, too.
And just exactly how, in the name of boris, did you manage to confuse the bowler/derby with a fedora?
Even for an american, that is more than just unusually careless.
I say get a mohawk. Best hair style I ever got. Get something “weird” to deal with that coyness.
In addition to being thoroughly AWESOME, it’s quite a versatile hairdo!
dude, you gotta post a picture!
BTW ive got the same hairstyle/hat problem.
I didn’t confuse them at all. I used my reading comprehension:
Casual old man hat? I think Fedora. Maybe that’s just because us yanks are rugged individualists who need a hat built for performance in the wilds, vice looks at a polo match.
FWIW, I own a nice navy blue derby. It is the most useless hat I own. Too casual to go with a formal occasion, too formal to go with anything less than a 3 piece suit.
I only look good in odd hats, I can’t really pull off the baseball hat style, and the flat brimmed style is perhaps the stupidest style I could ever imagine. So I either don’t wear a hat, or I’ll occasionally wear my boonie hat, or a fuzzy hunting style hat if it’s snowing outside. But while those are my preferred hats, I love all sorts of odd headwear. A while ago I even made a gif of a few of my hats :~)
Sorry I could not post the picture today. I’ve been busy all day so I have not gotten the time to do it. Tomorrow for sure though.
lol, I think he’s just leading us on now xP
