Harper
Huh?
What?
eh?
Ahhhh-wuh???
I think maybe we should be worried about Sofa. He seems to be talking to himself and posting in Loganese.
I like that… very descriptive, a word that should definitely be added to the dictionary.
Yeah! Down with Harper!!
But why, exactly?
carefull james
i’m not sure it was ‘…with…’
u may be volunteering for something u didn’t mean to…
its ok sofa they are coming
Sofa: “Who is it santa claus!”
no its just some nice friendly men in white coats they are going to give you a special new jacket and take you on holiday to a special place where there are lots of other people who are special just like you…
Sofa: “Wow! a holiday!”
So…
As far as I can remember, this is the only game we played
Ok, even though Harper’s other scores were higher than mine, we both lost.
Game one: Sofa 116, Harper 117
Game two: Pictured
Game three…Vanilla Hand Bowling: Sofa 66, Harper 100
He is a worthy advisary not to be taken lightly. The highlights of the evening were when Greg’s hair got caught in the ball return, and they had to shut down the lanes until the maintenance crew and the paramedics came. And just when we thought things were calmed down enough to continue, Jamie Morrice (uni_guy) came running in and tripped, falling into the gutters and hurt his shoulder.
But seriously…did you know that a properly set gutterball will take out the side pin? I can account for 10-20 gutter points!
what in the heck kind of bowling is that? I guess I’m pretty ignorant on the roll the ball down the lane type of sports.
This is 5 pin bowling
the ball is tiny, and there are only 5 pins to knock down (but it is just as hard, if not harder, to get a strike in 5 pin over 10 pin)
The pins are valued 3,2,5,2,3, where in 10 pin, they are all one point each.
In 5 pin you get 3 balls per frame, in 10 pin, you only get 2
I have only been playing 10 pin ove the past few years, but I’m pretty sure I now like 5 pin better.
But in both types, you have to wear special non - marking shoes…Mr Harper was scolded not once, but twice that his street shoes had crossed the ‘only bowling shoes from here on’ line. I thought he was gonna get thrown out into the rainy parking lot.
It looks a little gentler on the wrist. I have pretty bad carpal tunnel and bowling the other day (10 pin) didn’t help. I wonder if they have 5 pin bowling around here…
10 pins certainly punishes the novice’s arm!
Although, I played 10 pin twice in one week once, and the second time I had no dislocated shoulder/streched arm/bent wrist symptoms
5 pin just seems more peaceful
Here in Michigan, we only know of five pin bowling across the river in Canada. So I thought it was just a “Canada thing.” I have also heard it called “duck bowling”, but I don’t know if the practitioners call it that. (Maybe it is a slur, eh?)
Now you know what we have to put up with. The guy is a “scolding magnet”…constantly drawing heat from those in positions of authority. We’re still “persona non grata” at our best local riding area due to a stunt Harper pulled. Decided he simply HAD to gap between two picnic tables, but didn’t have the decency to wait until the familes sitting at them were done eating.
