I read the entire thread before posting. Otherwise, I’m likely to repeat something, say something off-topic/out of context, or generally just look like a moron.
Plus, I get a lot more out of the thread when I read it. After all, isn’t that the point? The point should be to learn from other’s views, not just force your own on someone else via posts.
I usualy read the first post completely, then the first couple replys, then I will either post my own reply and subsiquently read all the other replies, or if I don’t think the first post warranted my opinion, but I am still interested, I will read other replies.
I get really annoyed when I can really obviously tell that people responding did not read the original post properly, and are replying with things I told them not to reply with in the original post.
Who reads threads before posting? - I find the descriptive subject lines are enough for me to make a comprehensive post.
And if you’ve been away for a few days, and see an interesting title with 3 or more pages on it already, how much do you read before posting? - If the tread is already that active, it probably doesn’t need any more help to keep the momentum going.
Who engages their brain before starting threads? Or posting? Is it a good idea? - Ask me again after my coffee kicks in.
Who thinks smilies will solve our international diplomacy problems? - Smilies should be banned. Smilies are a weapon of mass destruction. When posting just say what you mean, don’t mean what you say.
I try to read the whole thing, but if there are 3+ pages, I usually don’t. I just ctrl+F the thing i would probably post, and if it isn’t yet there, I post it. And, smileys rock
