Just wondering: Who do you support more? Those who have power, or those who need power?
Root for the underdog!
Remember Underdog (the cartoon)? He was the superhero who used drugs to make him powerful. I guess that’s why you don’t see reruns of his cartoons any more…
Somewhere around 35% of my income goes to paying federal and state taxes.
Only 2-3% of my income goes to charity.
I spend 40 hrs/wk. working in a defense-related industry.
I spend 1-3 hrs/wk. volunteering for local NPOs.
Quantitatively, I support those in power.
Qualitatively, I support those in need.
The way this society is structured, most people must support those in power in order to support themselves.
Dubya, you’re almost 15 years older than Mr. Foss. If anyone’s too old, it’s you!
Excelent response!
In your heart, which do you support?
The society may be structured to maintain a disconnect between our heart’s and actions.
Myself.
Everyone has power. Everyone needs power. No differing level of support needed.
True. But it’s not evenly distributed. Like food, some people have enough, so they don’t need food today. And not everyone has food.
who do you support? THe people with food? Or the people who need food?
Well…
Maybe it’s time to re-phrase the question from an “or” to an “and”:
HOW do you support those who have power and those who need power?
In your food example:
HOW do you support the people with food so they can assist the people who need food?
I support the people with food so that we can support the people who need food. In other words, no differing level of support needed. Are you implying that only one side needs support? Put them both in closed support systems from each other, and you can’t achieve anything.
I support/help anyone who is trying to help themself, although far to many in todays society have no will or desire to help themselves, and have the mentality that they deserve everything just as much as those who take the extra effort to get ahead.
Where do you go for power distribution?
I support neither those in power or those in need of power. I support merely my own intrests and the intrests of those I love.
so that we can support…?
What about those with food who don’t support those without food?
They must have failed economics class.
What about those with cell phones who don’t have food?
About 50% of my income goes to paying taxes.
Most of that goes to support those in need. Or at least to support those who are less well off than me.
the powers out right now so i support thsoe with out cause its hard
Politicians and government employes are less well off than you?
Did you notice he is in Denmark? Are you aware of the taxes there…
