Who are the mysterious guests?

Every time I come to unicyclist.com, I always notice there at least twice as many guests online as registered users. Who are these people? Can they just not be bothered to sign up? Or are they just passing through? Or are they b*king spies? :thinking:

I think its a little of everything you said, cause before I signed up i would come here and look at what was happening, then signed up, I know some of us have gone to bike forums, so why wouldnt they want to come check out what we have?

Most are spiders.

Most of the guests are search engine spies. Have you ever clicked on “Who’s Online” on the Forum Jump below? The “Yahoo! Slurp Spider” is all over.

I’m guessing the rest of the guests are not signed up, not logged in, or in invisible mode.

I always log out.

I figure that alot of them are undecided about joining yet…I cruised around on here for about a week just reading before i ever signed up.

I am guilty of being a “guest” whenever I am at work, for I fear BIG BROTHER is watching and I shouldn’t log-on. I would think that I am not the only one that is doing that, and we can assume that not all guests are novices or know nothing about the one wheeled world…

Yeah, I’m guilty of being a ‘guest’ when I view the forum at work too.
I dare not log on for fear the IT police will nab me.

Bad news for all of you paranoia sufferers - you probably aren’t paranoid enough, the ‘IT police’ as you call them, could quite easily monitor every little move you make if they wanted to. I know a guy who works as a sysadmin that set up the office network so he can receive a screenshot from any computer at any time he wants. Scary huh? However, they’re probably too busy playing online games. They’re not monitored after all…

Maybe a lot of them came from after the Masters of Champions show, cause I remember there being a lot a week ago, after the show it seems like it jumped quite a lot.
