I had heard that in April the new nimbus Blizzard tire was going to be making an appearance ( I think Canada UDC). I see that they have an advertisement for something wicked coming our way, but does anyone know if these are coming soon?
I really want to buy a White Try-all (I know they don’t make them anymore) and I will wait and try one of the new ones, if UDC will have white trial tires in the not too distant future, but otherwise I’m posting on the Trading Post that I will pay $100 for a Try All white but I don’t want to make that offer if like next week UDC is going to have the Nimbus Blizzard.
I know this isn’t very helpful to your immediate problem, but I’ll relate something I’ve learned from being around the cycling business:
It’s never a good idea to hold your breath waiting for something that’s “coming out soon”. The same applies to projected arrival dates, such as “May” or “Spring” because there are so many steps in the process of designing, approving, manufacturing, shipping, distributing, etc. that it’s nearly impossible to have solid dates on low-cost items.
I guess the same applies to electronics and other products as well; I remember waiting many months for a camera to come out.
So even when the maker/designer is anxious to get the new product to you (when are they not?), no one person can control or predict the whole process. That’s why Kris Holm, for instance, is very unlikely to offer arrival dates for new products. Even if he could say when these products would ship from Asia, they have to get to the other countries, pass through customs and be distributed to the companies selling them…
Those Try-Alls sure were nice-looking tires though!
Thanks John, very true I think in many businesses but I had to ask.
I do like those tires, they were pretty. :o Besides being pretty though they had a pretty decent handling description, and I know I can get a black try-all for a comparison to the the Creepy Crawler for handling, but I still rather have the white for the best of both worlds…purdy and handling
I’m pretty sure Pete (UDC Canada) said his were going to come in his April shipment so that imples that they are already in production and just waiting to be shipped. I think that’s what he said to me but there have been many mishaps in the past with UDC on time related things (although they are still really great) so don’t get your hopes to high:)
At least it is in the future, better than nothing. Since April is counting down I might just wait and see what UDC comes up with in the next month or two but who knows, thanks for the info.
