Wow…that was impressive, to say the least.
Almost, but not quite as good as Frankfurter Sandwiches.
Jake Shimabukuro was recently the cover story in Frets magazine. He’s quite impressive and extremely talented. I’ve listened to some samples of his music and while the style generally, progressive jazzy stuff, is not my style, his skill is unquestionable.
Thanks for posting that excellent Beatles cover. It’s beautiful.
Brilliant. I have just concluded that I have never seen a ukelele played well before. He mixed a number of playing styles, but to excellent effect.
Thats fairly amazing.
That was INCREDIBLE…I wish i could play guitar that well…Never mind ukelele,
Very cool. I’ve heard some of his recordings before. The pastor of the church I attended where I previously lived (what a mouthful) loves to play the uke and is a big fan of Jake.
Thanks you so much for posting that, it was wonderful.
I’d never before seen a ukelele played like that either, such a beautiful sound though.
Watching it again, I wonder how he still has any skin left at all on his fingers…
Check this out
woa
UkeelayLee i cant belive my eyes taht was sick and sweet like sugar and sweet.
That was amzing. I am very impressed. I love that song, and he is one of the onle people I have heard who can do a good beatles cover. I enjoyed the video very much, not to mention the music.
Hello Brian, Yes, thanks for sharing that.
I’ve always been a Beatles fan, been mostly a Paul and John fan, but as the years go by I’ve realized that George’s music shares a large percentage of my favorite Beatles music.
That playing of the ukulele is amazing. Really surprising that someone with a ukulele could do all that, it sounded great.
A bump of this thread cause I just saw in the paper that Jake Shimabukuro (the ukulele guy) is touring around the West coast this month and next month. He’ll be in Edmonds Washington (North-north Seattle) tomorrow. Then down to Eugene Oregon, Ashland Oregon, Lost Vegas, Santa Cruz, Oakland, and other places.
Tour schedule here.
I’m not going to be around on Saturday. So no-go for me.
Very neat. I like the sound of the ukelele, its quite soothing.
that song is one of my favorite Beatles song and he really did justice.
Likewise.
