Does anyone know what happend to Zack Baldwin? He had a great spot in ‘Defect’ but haven’t heard of him riding ever since! what’a going on?
As far as I know he quit. Didn’t feel like riding any longer I guess.
he moved away from all his riding buddies, and since he had no one to ride with he quit. i’m sure that is not the only reason though.

I consider him to be the most talented young trials rider around. Considering he hasn’t been riding unicycles that long (3 years max?). His style is just so different to KH’s and Ryan’s, which appeals to me the most.
the sheer height and general unique looks of his sidehops were something that caught my attention too. Same for his gapping and natural-riding.
As a rider, I respect him and his riding very much, but not necessarily from a social point of view.
Still, it is such a shame to throw away talent like that. So far there is not one person close to even mimicing Zack’s unique style, and that is one style that I really enjoy watching over most others.
We especially miss him here in Sacramento. Of course we miss Jess Riegel as well, as he’s away at college in Santa Barbara. At least those guys will miss him when he’s back home for visits!
Zack moved with his family to Arizona. Near Sedona? I forget. Haven’t heard from him since a phone call a few months back. He indicated he wasn’t planning on selling his Trials unicycle, but didn’t have anyone to ride with so it was hard to get motivated. Plus he was working lots and lots (which he was out here also). He may be back.
Am I a bad unicyclist for not really caring where he is? His riding has never really affected me, and even if he has quit, that won’t really stop me from riding. To me, the only bad thing is that someone stopped riding, not that Zach Baldwin stopped riding.
I didn’t really care about Zack either until I watched Defect. Now, he’s one of my favourite riders and I’m sad because he’s stopped.
I don’t really care that much, but I did enjoy watching his riding, he just had such a nice style that a lot of people liked and was a really great trials rider.
We should all make a letter to zack and everyone can sign it telling him to keep unicycling.

Currently Zack lives in Dewey, close to Prescott. It’s a shame that I live a three hour drive away in tucson, otherwise I could easily solve this problem. I’m going to see him tomorrow, so hopefully we’ll get to go riding, but he might be busy with work.

i’ve tried to mimic his riding, but it’s near impossible. It was truly unique.
Fixed, ASAIK he still rides, it sais so on his myspace (although that means nothing), plus Matt mentioned he may be doing some riding with him. From the sounds of it, its just not a big priority for him, thats cool, I have many hobbies that I was really good at that have almost disapeared.
But did you ever become one of the best in the world at those hobbies?
