Where to practice

I’ve found the best place to practice is a long hallway. One of the advantages
of living at a hostel is there are plenty. They are ideal as you can support
yourself on a wall if you fall either left or right. This means you don’t have
to worry so much about keeping your balance sideways. Also you are less likely
to damage your unicycle (although there may be a risk to your wall paper). Stone
walls are best.

I learnt to ride using a fence. I used a hallway to learn one footed and it is
much easy. The only thing I could think of that would be better is two parallel
bars either side.

Of course the best solution is probably two people on either side but it can be
difficult to find people who are keen to support you for a couple of hours.
