wheel walk learning

i put my foot on my tire(tyre?) for the first time yesterday, it feels awesome, and i want to learn how to wheel walk badly now. problems:

getting my feet up onto my 24" w/ gazz tire, its quite a reach

starting it–i want to learn how to start it without support as fast as i can, this is priority numero uno

of course, getting down to pedals again, but i think i’ll just kinda pick this up…

are there any good movie places so i could watch someone do the whole thing, getting on, walking the wheel, and getting back on pedals. how fast should i be trying to walk?

Put your seat up as high as you can. Start from an idle, putting one foot up
on the tire, start pushing, then bring up the other one.

I hit the point where I wasn’t getting any better starting from a wall. I
then tried starting from an idle and I got better real fast. So I guess the
answer is to stop using support as soon as you feel ready.

I’m still working on this one.

The USA skill level shows it. Regarding speed, you don’t want to be going too
fast. A tendence when learning is to lean forward and step like crazy trying
to keep up. You won’t be able to ride continuously this way. You instead
want to be in control, even slowing the wheel down if needed.
