wheel size

hi everyone i’m new and have a question i’m getting a new unicycle to learn on and do the beginner things on but my question is how do you pick a wheel size? any advice would help and thanks in advance

20" is the most comman size to learn on

some pople learn on 24" nothing bigger then that

its usally easy to learn on a 20 inch wheel, or if ur extremely tall you could learn on a 24

a 20" unicycle is best to learn on though some people choose to do it on a 24", then after that it depends on what type of unicycling you are going to do.

thanks for the replies everyone i’m 5"11 so not to tall

i learned on a 24 and i am 5’6… it wasnt too hard… but now i ride a 20" for trials and street.

I don’t find there to be a real difference between 20" - 24" to learn on, having seen many people learn on both through the unicycling club I am in.

Just ask youself this question…what unicycle do you want to have once you can ride?

24" better for going distances, more versatile, easier to ride on unpaved terrain, and in snow

20" better in confined areas, or for easier freestyle (picture gymnastics, figure skating) type tricks.

for starting I would get a 24" That is what I learned on, and I find it is much more versatile, because once people now how to ride, they usually end up wanting a nice 20" uni, or bigger than 24" also, 24" were easier to control for me. I’m about 5’ high. I’m sure other people will say differently though.
