The Snowcats really spread the tire out. Tire profile seems to be critical on unicycles so I wonder if a super wide rim would make a unicycle hard to ride. I feel a serious urge to find out!

I’m curious too about how that big ass rim would be with the 29er tires that are availalble. My guess is that it would be a little too wide. My other concern with the Snowcat rim is the strength. It’s only a single wall rim.

Someting around 30mm would probably be a better fit for the 29er tires. The Alex DX32 in a 700c size or the Airfoil rim in a 700c size is probably the rim that we’re looking for.

The 36" Airfoil rim for the Coker tire is 30mm inside width and 37mm outside width.

George Peck used to do his muni on a 26" Snowcat rim and he was using the normal mountain bike tires at that time rather than the 3" downhill tires (3" tires didn’t exist back then).
