What's the unicycle ?

Hello, somebody knows this unicycle?
Thank you.

“The unicycle” is apparently not that thing.

Which begs the question, What is that thing?

I think I saw it in that thread about using a handle instead of a seat for trials.

Is it a joke?

Its called a front wheel, at the club I go to In Palmerston North, New Zealand. They are fun to ride but also sore and tiring.

Hello, I found the site of Thierry Bouché and it with an approach different from the unicycle and I wishes your opinion.
Thank you

looks like a huni

(handlebar uni)

they are hard as heck to ride for ages

wow, that looks really interesting

We had one of these at the 08 NZ Uniweekend! It’s just like riding seat-out but a bit harder…

Yea it was Melcom’s front wheel. He got some motobike handle bars and put them into a frame with a couple of seat clamp and he had the front wheel.

Would suck landing anything seat in. Design flaw in my oppinion :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello, Mr. Thierry Bouché of it rolls with this plain it makes to roll in top of Mont Blanc and did much top on the Alps and some tops in the world.
I have a similar model and it is very very handy, one should not think of rolling on dish with this model for a long time but for whole ground it is really extraordinary.

I’m a little confused. Are we talking about a front bicycle wheel, or a unicycle wheel (with cranks & pedals)? I can’t make out in the original image if there are any, but there clearly are in the (very nice) photo of Thierry Bouché above.

In any case, I wouldn’t want to ride any kind of distance without a seat. A great workout yes, but even with legs of steel it must get old after a while?

Some early unicycles were a big wheel with handlebars instead of a seat: the front half of a Penny Farthing.

From time to time, some entrepreneur throws a few together with a unicycle frame and the handlebars from a folding scooter and sticks them on eBay.

I’d guess it’s easier than an ultimate wheel, but harder than a seated unicycle, and with the bars at exactly the right height, probably a bit easier than seat in front.
