For a lot of my friends, it’s when our shift at Wal-Mart is over and we’re exhausted, but we know we’ve just earned $48.00 before taxes, for a full days work.
Unicycling’s great definitely haha! I just pulled off a 180 seat out jump mount and it’s an amazing feeling. The shin whack when I tried it again was a pretty amazing feeling too actually…
Pulling off Blackberry Blossom at 170bpm on my guitar, not someone elses. And no, you can’t play my guitar.

Never heard of Blackberry Blossom before, so I had to look it up. Heard an Irish version. Excellent stuff, and it sounds pretty damn difficult. I am impressed. Makes me wish I had not sold my guitar about ten years ago.
I recently, about 2 months ago, purchased a microphone and downloaded some recording software. I excitedly recorded myself playing a few songs and was so dismayed by my playing that I couldn’t bring myself to record again. My wife and daughter assure me that I sound good, but it was shit to me.
I do intend to try again in a while, but not yet. I’m working on a basic tab of Bach’s Bouree in E Minor (the one Jethro Tull did) which I’m hoping by Christmastime to have down. And my teacher and I have been working through Blackberry Blossom together and one of these days I’ll record that too.
I’m not a seasoned enough player so that you can show me some music and I can play it right off. I need to work on things for a while before I can get it down. And, most frustrating, I haven’t found anyone to play with regularly so I really suck at keeping time with more than just myself.
Is keeping time with yourself really keeping time? Maybe a metronome would help. Or play along with tracks of your instructor or a track of the music you are trying to play.
For me it’s learning some psychomotor skills.
I remember when I was learning to ice-skate – I had such a great euphoric feeling when I learned backward crossovers.
Also when skiing – doing looong high speed fun-carves on a wide slope is totally mind-boggling; after a few turns I have to stop, breathe deeply for a while and wait a moment for an adrenaline level to drop a bit
Then again, running about 10km without any stops is also a memorable feeling.
And do I really have to mention here riding first 50m on a unicycle… ?

p.s.
I almost forgot… walking around the city after 36h without a sleep… It’s totally eerie feeling, and I mean it. You see hobbits crossing the streets, you have flashbacks, momentary lapses of consciousness, etc…
It’s in G major, not E minor. I know they are relative, but it’s a major piece.
I’m sorry, I just had to say this, it’s one of my favourite pieces to play. I haven’t tried the basic tab, I play the classical guitar version. Good luck with it. It’s awesome once you have it down. My advice is start off really really slow and speed up by 8 beats or so when you feel you can play the part perfectly. And definetely use a metronome.
My amasing feeling is when I do something cool on a uni very well or when I’m playing a piece on the guitar perfectly(or nearly perfectly). I’ve got loads of other feelings as well.
Oh, yeah. Also when I’m listening to some music that I really love it just kills me sometimes.
I am disinclined to question a classical player, but I have always seen it listed as being in E Minor.
Thanks. The tab is just that, notation for those who don’t read standard notation. It’s still the same classical piece and I try to throw in a trill here and there when I can; my pinky needs the work.
Anyways, for me it has to be when I am with Sera, thats the best. Another things is when you ride down a long set of stairs, like 20 something, once I hit the bottom I always get a nice rush.
