What to do when you cant sleep...

Thats what i think - i dont sleep much!
But when i am as tired as i am, i feel like i just need one day off to sleep then i’d be right!

Yeah I’m the same way. I’ve had to deal with insomnia all my life, but it hasn’t been as bad the past few years. I do take non-prescription sleep aid, basically it just takes the “edge” off so I can get to sleep, but it does take about 2 hours to kick in.

Open the window to get some fresh oxygen in the room. While the window is open, do some sports which really gets your heart beating fast within 5 minutes or so (situps, jumping, whatever you can do next to your bed - I am usually doing 50 knee-bends). Then, slowly relax within the next 2 minutes and drink a glass of water. Don’t forget to close the window.

Then, go to bed. Think about something nice - do not think “I must sleep, I must sleep” Your body will relax after the sports and you fall asleep.

Do not wait too long before you go to bed - the effect works only right after the sports.

Have a good and consistent bedtime routine and bed time.

Have a glass of warm milk and a banana before bed.

Don’t do anything that involves mental stimulation for about an hour before bed (eg computers, arguments, etc).

Try to have a calm bedroom with as little as possible that doesn’t involve sleep in your room.

If you can’t get to sleep don’t lie there and get frustrated because you can’t sleep, get up and do something. then go back to bed when you’re tired.

Don’t have a lie in.

Drink at least half a bottle of whiskey. That always works. Should sleep like a baby then.

Hit your self really hard in the head with a frying pan, it works ALL the time:D
