What not to do with a unicycle...

Try to remove a crank with a cotterless crank arm remover before taking of the axle nut.

I did this, and ended up pulling the threads right out of the inside of the crank. It to a lot of work with various power tools and a large hammer to get it of.

You mean why did I do it? I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention. Oh well, at least they where ruined before hand anyway (bent beyond usefulness).

All the cotterless crank removers I’ve ever used thread into the hole
where the axle nut is, so you have to take it off first to use it. Sounds
like you were using a gear or bearing puller of some kind.

But good advice!
