What is the happiest, most catchy song that you know? I need it as the backround music for a violent confrontation in an alleyway I might film. Kind of along the lines of Resevoir dogs in the “ear scene” where they play stuck in the middle with you.
So far I’ve got these as the best I’ve heard so far.
I’m walking on sunshine by katrina and the waves
If you want to be happy by jimmy soul
Sussudio by phil collins
hey good looking by hank williams
oooooh geez- i have a few contenders as happiest song in the world (but i’m afraid they are not widely popular). These would be at the top of my list.
1)King of the rodeo- kings of leon
2) Postcards from italy- Beirut
3) Young ones- peter, Bjorn and john (most awesome catchy whistling tune ever!)

I’d vote for Walking on Sunshine.
It is a very catchy, foot-tappy kind of song and undeniably ‘happy’ and ‘sunny’.
Also in it’s favour is that is was a fair-sized hit at the time and will be remembered.
What’s your target audience with this movie?
A couple of other suggestions:
“Footloose” by Kenny Loggins.
“Wake me up before you go go” by Wham.
Just about anything by the Beach Boys.
great unicycling song. used it in the video in my signature.
these two songs make me feel incredibley happy, although they are not at all what you are looking for im sure. The first one is very experimental and the second one is in icelandic:
animal collective - did you see the words
sigur ros - hopippolla
i cant stop grinning whenever i listen to these songs.
The Who > Magic Bus
Grateful Dead > Dancin’ in the Streets
Cindy Lauper > Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Dexie’s Midnight Runners > Come on Ilene
Jimmy Buffett > Cheesburger in Paradise
No age jokes, but it is the only thing worse than Olivia Newton John in Grease.
And it’s Eileen.
Some more suggestions:
“Mickey” by Toni Basil
“Walk of life” by Dire Straits
“Hakuna Matata” by Jimmy Cliff (from the Lion King soundtrack)
“I Will Survive” Gloria Gaynor.
“Just can’t get enough” Depeche Mode.
“If you’re going to San Francisco (be sure to wear some flowers in your hair)” by Scott Mckenzie (ok, I mainly suggested that to make steveyo feel less old…)
