What have you done with your dremel???

Hi! I got a dremel for christmas, I haven’t used it much yet but I dont know what to do with it, I wanted to do some Rubik’s cube mod but I dont have money to get Rubik’s cube yet. I want some ideals of what I can do with a dremel. It can be anything, I like doing things… Post what you’ve done with it or just say what you would like to see that could be done with a dremel:)

It’s more like “what cant you do with a Dremel?” Anything and everything!

I use a hi-speed cordless mostly for piano related repairs. I’ve used one on a regular basis for over a decade now, and it’s really been an indispensable part of my workshop, and is extremely versatile.

I would say that working for a few years in a custom street rod and hot rod shop that my dremel was probably my most used tool.
Making shifter linkage, pulley brackets, seat mounts… Name it…

Get a block of wood or aluminum and make a model of a Uni! Great rainy day project there. Just have to learn to think in 3D. Wear a dust mask and saftey glasses! Breathing in aluminum dust can be BAD and getting a broken dremel bit stuck in your cornea cant feel to pleasant I would think

Lost track of where it is. I know I have one… :frowning:

For a lot of guitar work. Scalloping necks. Hand carving some pickup and bridge cavities.

I use it now and then for some other things, but mainly for guitar work.

That’s really kind of a personal question. I’m unsure of how appropriate it is for a forum of this type.

PM me… We can compare techniques.

I think I’ll make a uni with a piece of wood today if I’m not unicycling with my friends:) I thought about something yesterday, just because I have nothing to do… Just make a huge hole in my double bolt seatclamp!!! Would that kill the clamp, or it would be cool?

DIY dentistry. Two root canals and the Dremel pays for itself.

Iz it safe?

I used one to do a hack job filing off the black coating on my Sun doublewide rim, in a mostly successful attempt to eliminate the squealing from my Magura break. But I suffered mightily…the mocking of Jagur.

I was stripping the paint off of my uni frame once and I used my dremel tool to remove the paint from any grooves and corners.

I finally finished to make my Carbon Seat Stiffener!! Well, not totally finished, I still have to drill the holes and maybe curve it a little bit. All that with my dremel:)

Even better than a root canal: Trepane yourself like this guy did!

What a tool!

Are you holding out on me? Where the weiners at?

Never mind. I’m heading off to Costco for a super-mega-pack of weiners.

Oh. My. God.

Why did I read all of that? I feel ill. :frowning:

I used a dremel to make/modify some of the pieces for a cam mount tonight… It points the cam forward, or downward so you can see a unicycle wheel. when on top, the camera may be pointed rearward or forward.
