wow, i actually understood all that french

English speaking countries are incredibly lazy with languages.Itā€™s shameful that we donā€™t take it more seriously

Well I think the jist of it is that ā€œeveryoneā€ else knows English so why learn their language?

IĀ“m swedish, and i would choose english before swedish cause you can speak it everywhere, And the swedish people are incredible great at speaking english.

hmm well i guess its easier to understand if you can speak another language

Itā€™s not just to do with public attitude, itā€™s the education system.

From what Iā€™ve heard and not from personal experience, most people in European countries have the opportunity to learn English from a young age, on a day to day basis. They then have many opportunities to speak English in their own country.
In the UK, we only get the chance to learn a language at the age of about 9 or 10 years and thatā€™s only about once or twice a week. In Scotland anyway, we only have to learn a language until the age of 15. Even then, there is no natural way to speak a foreign language, as everything is done in English.

You can see the problems we have. I would love to be able to speak French far more fluently and I would love to learn atleast a bit of Spanish, but I would have to dedicate my own time and even then I would have no one to talk too.

I too am interested in when Addict will come on the market, always exciting to have a new brand in the mix.

Jason

I would definately agree with you on all of those points. I know I had to ā€œlearnā€ Spanish for only a year and they barely taught you any at all in the class. I was even mispronouncing the words I ā€œknewā€. If I still lived in Atlanta I would have plenty of oppertunities to practice my Spanish though.

The way I do it, If I know someone is french on the forums, I will post in french, But I wont be going around posting threads in french.

New thread for this maybe?

This thread asks a perfectly good question.

The only point that is worth making about language in this thread is.

THE QUESTION WAS IN ENGLISH, THE THREAD TITLE WAS IN ENGLISH

Weather the thread starter can speak another language or not keeping the answer in the same language would be the most useful, as well as respectful way to do it.

Here in America the number two language is Spanishā€¦ that is the most common second language for us to learn, so please if the question is asked in English donā€™t use french to answerā€¦ cause you can obviously use both. Saying learn another language is rude as many of us do and haveā€¦ it just might not be yours.

P.S Emile- This forum may be used internationally, but it is an English speaking forum. There are sections for other languages. Please, I have spent a lot of time fixing my grammar and working on spelling, to make it easier for people, who use English as a second language to read my post.

. . . why is everybody so tense. . . you all do ride UNICYCLES right? cā€™mon : P a little more : ) and a lot less >: ( would be nice

EDIT: . . . donā€™t look at my icon

oops i just ruined this thread.

sorry if im too lazy to learn a new language and sorry for starting a big argument. now feel free to go bak to discussing ā€˜ADDICTā€™.

Kann das mal jemand ins deutsche Ć¼bersetzen?

I got a email from Yoggi for a couple of weeks ago, he said that the stuff are expected in late oktober or the start of November.

Thanks.

The most common language to learn here, is english. This has simply gone too far. It is simple. I know that Mikael is not the best in english. Therefore, I will post in french. It was his question, I answered in french, whatā€™s the big deal? He asked the question, if you guyā€™s answered it was because you guys knew the answer, not because you wanted to rant about posting in an other language on an international forum. No.
