Hey im looking for some ideas and input on employment ideas. Where do you work and why do you like it or hate it, and we’re talking real jobs not McDonalds or Shoprite.

I’m doing retail at REI right now, but I’ve worked in the past as a Conservation Agent (protecting wetlands) and as a Land Management Specialist (writing property managment plans and recruiting and managing volunteers for land trusts). If your’e really stumped and don’t mind being broke for a year (and otherwise meet the requirments, do what I did after college and join up with AmeriCorps or some other similar organization, especially in a place where you would like to settle for a while- it gives you a year to make tons of contacts for jobs. I actually interned for the previous Conservation Agent when I was in AmeriCorps, and was hired to replace her at the close of my term.

Well I know you said only real jobs, but I’m only 16, so what sort of “real” job am I gonna have?
I’m a busboy right now, just for the few extra bucks so I don’t have to mooch off my parents whatsoever.
I’m currently paid to work as an engineer for The Man. I like it because it pays pretty well, and the benefits (medical, time-off, etc.) are pretty good. I don’t like it because I get stuck working night hours too often and because I don’t personally care for the particular service The Man sells.
Currently, I don’t have a “real” job, I work behind a bar. Though next year I might end up in the millitary. If I do, it will be as a psychoanalyst. But it could be a while before I get there.

I want to slap the smile off that guy’s face… I’m not sure why I hate him so much.
Any occupation that involves the trade of money for time & effort is a real job. It doesn’t matter how important, or unimportant, your position is… somehow you’re providing a good or service for someone else, and that’s what counts.
My job as an engineer, eh, I get to geek out on high-tech hardware, but… it keeps me from unicycling. When I find out how to make six figures camping out in the woods and riding MUni all day, then I’ll be happy

can you get the host to not say such outrageously stupid comments during the videos? they’re so DUMB and often make them less funny…so if you could do that, it’d be cool.
I am not in charge of writing the show or choosing what clips air, I just go out and find the clips.
Also DK, are you referring to the old host, Matt Gallant (white guy) or the new host, Keegan-Michael Key (black guy)?
I am always curious about what people think of the hosts even though I can do nothing to change it

yeah i dont have a job right now…but i go busking every weekend or so so that i can make some money…and i do kids parties. so i guess im kinda a performing artist
