I just hate the materialistic aspects of the winter holidays…
So, what’d you get?

Huh? You mean Christmas? News Years hasn’t happened yet, and all I got for thanksgiving was a bunch of food…
Ha ha. Very funny.
I was playing the politically correct card. For example, folks get gifts for Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, etc., too, so there’s no reason to leave them out.
What you get for Christmas, then, Forrest?
What I got for Christmas. Copied from MR.
Lotsa good stuff, Jerrick! You wouldn’t happen to play guitar, would you?
I’m currently transferring a bunch of Jess Riegel’s videos to my new Samsung P2 media player. I love it!
Those “holidays” are already over (does anyone actually celebrate Kwanza?). Christmas is today.
Anyway.
I got
Super Smash Bro’s for N64
Shop/Bench grinder
KH style CF seatbase
A walking ladder (kinda circusy I guess, but it’s hard and looks fun…)
MP3 earbuds that clip over your ear so they don’t fall out when I’m riding
candy and nuts and junk
$50 gift card that I haven’t thought of what to buy yet…
I do indeed play guitar, and bass. And a few others. =p
Its nice, now I have two guitars hanging up on my wall, with a wall lava lamp between them. I finally got a painting ive had for a long time hung up on another wall. And now I have some cool accessories for them, like the tuner and polish.
I need to get my hard drive in my comp soon and transfer my data over. Ill probably wait till tonight though.
That player sounds fun.
i got a nimbus performer giraffe, kh leg armor, a 500gb hard drive, from my parents, and a face mask(not like a costume mask, one to keep u warm:p ) from my brother
Copied from a few posts in MR because “Santa” came 45 minutes early(11:15 pm last night) and because we just opened the “family gifts” a little while ago.

What I want to do with the $100:
Just curious: did you quote “holidays” because you think that those things the crazy non-Christian people celebrate aren’t real holidays? That’s kinda what came to mind.
Anyway, feel free to make a Christmas-gift-only thread if you please, but I would personally like to know what everybody received as gifts this holiday season, not just Christians or other people that celebrate Christmas (yes, I know athiests that celebrate Christmas).
Back on topic, I also got a great 500 watt Sony stereo. Talk about pumpin’ up the jams…
My parents got me a useful PC building book, too. That’ll help in these coming weeks of PC assembly and tuning. Oh, and the Essential Blender book will give me something to do on the new PC.
Oooh oooh! It just started snowing, too! Wasn’t in the forecast or anything – what a neat Christmas surpirse! Great way to put my new AE Bomber Jacket to use. And I can keep my coffee warm in the frigid temperatures (38.7 degrees) with my fancy shmancy USB cup warmer (and cooler).
a mask like this
I have one of those! they’re soo warm… only problem is that if your wearing it while unicycling you can’t see your feet and peripheral vision sucks and then when you breath out if the outside air is freezing your breath will freeze to your face… at least that’s my experience when unicycling(cokering) with it…
No, it had nothing to do with religion. It’s just that, Christmas is today, those other holidays very few people celebrate, they’re already over, and I don’t even think they are “gift giving” holidays.
Although I know Mornish celebrates Hanukkah and Christmas… And good for him.
Cool, my mom got me a Creative MP3 player a couple months ago, so that was like an early gift or something…
It’s just music though, and small so I can unicycle with it. With some of the gift card money I may buy a carrying case/armband for it, because I drop it sometimes…
I get what you’re saying – understood.
Creative is great. Way to get off of the iPod bandwagon (if you were ever on it). I like Apple (UNIX is the way to go), but they’re pretty overpriced. I mean, I’ve got a 3" screen on my P2, and what is the iPod video? Like 2" or something? The P2 is only $200, too, and the touchscreen is sweet… Samsung FTW.
stuff…
an isis ball puzzle
a juggle bug
khet the laser game
money
KH shin guards
an RC airplane
and some more stuff
For some reason, I got a lot of Grateful Dead T-Shirts.
I mean, I love the Dead more than any other band ever, but still, I got like…four shirts from four different people, all of them Grateful Dead!
It’s awesome.
One of them is a parody of those “Life Is Good” shirts and it says “Dead Is Better” and instead of a happy stick figure it has a hippie skeleton stick figure.
I also got some books…Desolation Angels, by Jack Kerouac, and Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris, both of which I asked for…some gift cards, some money…yeah!!
Ty, my man,
You’re going to follow well in your father’s footsteps someday. But sometimes, a little too much thinking gets in the way of enjoying the simple stuff. I’m with Forrest, today’s Christmas! Call it like it is and enjoy it.
Merry Christmas, Tyler! All the best to you and yours!
Bruce
I’m actually not riding my unicycle on a day off of work, so I’m “getting” the inside of my house remodeling project finished. All that remains for this afternoon is some caulking, paint touch-up, and moulding to install. Hooray!
an immoderate sense of well-being
and 2 litres of smirnoff triple distilled 50% export strength vodka
Hanukkah and Christmas are religeous activities that are based on approximately 2,000 years of tradition. Kwanzaa is a cultural activity that was invented in 1966. My personal view is that Kwanzaa should not be compared to Christmas or Hanukkah.
Back on topic, I got a lump of coal.
