Any videos??

I would love to have this one:

(Itā€™s HD recording, no external data-carrier -like DVD-RW disks, tape, or CF cards- involved)

Here are videos from my video camera showing the 16:9 aspect ratio - Two muni videos...

What type of cameria do you use for filming your unicycle videos?

  • Sony DCR-TRV22E digital video camera (MiniDV)

What do you like about it most?

  • Itā€™s tough, small, and has a touch screen. I thought the touch screen would be a bad thing, but it cleans up really well when it gets dirty and I think itā€™s really handy.

What do you dislike about it?

  • I donā€™t know how it compares to others in terms of picture quality, but Iā€™d like something a little more detailed and less pixelated. Thatā€™s not to say that itā€™s any worse than others in the same price range.

What cameria do you wish you had baught instead (if any)?

  • None, this was the best option in my price range.

What camerias have you used before?

  • None

Andrew

Cameras: Canon A60, and Sony TRV22 (I think, itā€™s my brotherā€™s camera).

What I want: A Sony Digital8 with backwards compat. for 8mm analog. I have a lot of old (non-uni) analog footage from my parentā€™s dead 8mm camera.

What I like: The Canon A60 takes decent footage, is light weight, and was a good price. I bought it for my gf for $130 US. I would have liked to get her the A75 (higher res still and video) but it suits her needs perfectly as it is. I like the Sony because itā€™s digital, and firewire makes capture a breeze. The ONLY thing I donā€™t like about the camera is the lack of 8mm analog. It was the only Sony Digital8 at the time that didnā€™t work with Hi8

What would I liked to have bought? Nothing that was on the market at the time. Ok, the Canon SL1 I think it was, professional camera, but the used ones are still $2000, and it wouldnā€™t fit in a backpack  Iā€™d like a Canon Digital Rebel, but I donā€™t think it takes video. I guess the Canon A75 is the only one really, since it takes 640x480 video instead of the 320x240 video of the A60.

Cameras Iā€™ve used: Sony 8mm analog video camera, Panasonic VHS camera/vcr combo (circa 1983, the vcr had a battery pack and a cable connectiing it to the camera, which was the size of a modern vhs camcorder). Polaroid digital camera (forget the model, it was my 1st digicam, circa '99), Canon A20, 4 years old and I still love it, but doesnā€™t take video.

Evil nick what cameria did you use for Unick?

Any one else??? Come on, I need suggestions. Pleaseā€¦

Unick was done with my brotherā€™s DCR-TRV140. Itā€™s digital, has nightshot, a good zoom, etc. It also uses 8mm tapes which are cheaper I think then mini-dv. I forgot, the zoom is a little touchy, but overall itā€™s good. Also has a remote control which is good for solo filming, or at least I think it would beā€¦ my brother lost it before he lent it to me

What are everyoneā€™s thoughts on recording over and over on the one MiniDV tape? Iā€™ve had the camera for almost a year now and have only ever bought 4 or 5 tapes. Could this realistically be significantly changing the quality of image I get?

Andrew

Suggestions will be easier to make if you give an idea of your budget.

thats the ting I dont know It it is more about what I can get Quality wise for what, I would Like to keep in bellow 200 could go 600 but wont

Sence I didnt want to make another thread

In addition of the questions what is a good picture/film cameria?

I donā€™t think you ca get a ā€œgoodā€ camera for under $200

try looking at used stuff

Oh I forgot , I price range is what ever it takes to get a decient- good cameria.
