Interested in hearing about what you all do when your not riding your unicycle or making a living.
I play guitar (Mexican Telecaster, Epiphone Les Paul, Fender acoustic, Traveler, Giannini Classico, and others ) - blues - country - gospel, paint acrylic portraits, juggle, run (jog) and learn Chinese. Here is one my recent paintings and my Telecaster:
I (sometimes) point out to people when they “invent” threads that have already been done, in this case with the exact same topic.
& other stuff.
John, see here.
I knit.
No reason not to start a new conversation about an old topic. In my view, the search function is there mainly if you have a technical question that’s been asked 1,000 times before (What size wheel for beginner? etc.) but JC is for conversation.
Hobbies and interests other than unicycling?
First and foremost above everything (including unicycling) is Morris dancing. I’ve danced more or less every week since 1983, I’ve been the Fool (front man, announcer, link man, jester) of the team since 1987, and right now I’m Squire (nominally in charge) and I do a lot of dance teaching.
Hand in hand with that goes the music. I play Anglo concertina every day, unless cercumstances make this impossible. I’ve just ordered my next one - a 100 year old Jeffries. I can also knock a tune out of a melodeon, and can play diatonic harmonica. I can sing well enough for a pub session or folk club night.
I enjoy birdwatching although I combine that with other activites, such as unicycling, rather than going out specially to watch birds.
As well as my unicycles, I have a decent single speed road bike.
I read books that are way too serious, often about philosophy or ancient history.
More fun than a barrel of monkeys, I am. Not necessarily live monkeys, though.
haha wicked quote!
I juggle, hoop and mess around with a few other circusy things, and I’m a swing dancer. I also do all manner of fiber arts, most notably costuming:
I play guitar and football and run track or golf(I’m not sure which i’m doing this year).
I restore pianos for fun & profit, write, perform on stage now & then, compose music a bit, but MUni takes up most of my free time, plus the other aspects thereof, like filming, editing and so on. It’s really become a way of life since 12/05.
chess
Starcraft.
When people see how good I am and call me a geek with no life… ahhh, just makes my day.
i AM my other hobbies.

As for my other hobbies, uh…
Jacking threads and trolling forums. Hence this.
Cody your the man. The Mario and Luigi ballons blew my mind XD
Roller Coasters, CAD Drafting, and Unicycling. I have strange hobbies, lol.
Powerbocking (Jumping stilts), Lasers and Juggling
My biggest hobby is probably belly dancing. I practice both egyptian and tribal style. I’ve yet to perform in front of an audience, but I’m currently learning some choreography so hopefully that will be sooner than later.
I also enjoy drawing and painting. I read alot of true crime books and I would say that the Columbine Massacre, on it’s own, is a hobby of mine.
Also, I’m an aspiring drummer. I’ve had little experience in it but I’m buying a drumset after Xmas so I can finally practice.
May I ask in what way the Columbine shooting fascinates you? How do you view those who were involved?
I mainly grew interested in it after just reading a small section about it in a book a few years ago about some conspiracy theories surrounding it, most all of which were just silly. But it inspired me to read up some more on it and there are SO many misconceptions about what happened that day and leading up to it, that it is just bizarre. People call it a school shooting, but it was actually a failed school bombing…they had much bigger plans, their goal being to out do Timothy McVeigh. They planned everything for a year in advance, they were not just depressed kids who decided one day to kill a bully then themselves…they wanted to send a message to the world, but because their bombs didn’t go off due to faulty wireing, they get thrown into the school shooter category of people who they frankly looked down upon…there is just so much more to the entire thing than people realize.
It was a horrible event, and it’s a shame that the killers get remembered more than the victims that day. When I visited the school, as soon as I saw it in the distance driving up to it, I just burst into tears. But the killers left behind so much, that the more you read, the more it feels like you knew them…
Oh yeah, I’m creepy.
