Just wondering. who likes or dislikes weird al? ican sing almost all of his songs and i was just on his site and hes almost done with his next album (not really only halfway but still awsome) im listening to him rite now. That would be sweet if he unicycled!
he’s pretty okay I guess. I don’t really listen to his music much, I just find it pretty funny…the original songs are always better though.
i think most of the original songs suck
I find him very talented. not only can he make great songs out of the originals, he often recreates the original singer’s voice.
i think my fafvourite weird al song (even in my current mix of riding songs) is Gump…the detail he takes from teh movie and puts into the song is genius.
I think he is great
UHF rules!
‘Amish Paradise’ was pretty good, as was the video. ‘It’s all about the pentiums’ also scores highly in my book.
I own a couple of his first albums. They’re pointless but fun. I have rarely bought comedy CDs because, once you know the jokes there’s no point in listening to them again. Al’s albums lasted longer, even though I don’t listen to them much anymore.
Tom Lehrer is/was even better. I still play his records regularly.
the night santa went crazy owns… i used to love him… and can sing every word on bad hair day, and running with siscors, but then i started accually listening to music… and my weird al faize grew out, i went to one of his concerts it was pretty cool
Chase
Angry White Boy Polka is my favorite. That and Trigger Happy.
I’ve listened to Al since “Eat It” and “Dare to be Stupid”… I’ve even seen him in concert twice! This guy puts on a great show: costume changes, flying video screens, fireworks, martial arts (this guy does flying kicks while doing accordion solos - amazing!), the whole shebang. Al and his band are all insanely talented musicians… sometimes their parodies are way better than the original songs!
Al’s polka medleys are my fave tunes. That guy rocks the accordian.
I’m Wierd Al’s biggest fan!
i bought his DVD awile ago. its got all the good ones and a few rare clips from UHF and a live performance of “another one rides the bus” it kicks ass.
You have competition. Tommy Miller (The Unicycle Factory) brags of a partial banana he keeps in his freezer. It’s a disgusting black thing. But it’s the remains of a banana Weird Al took a bite of onstage in a concert, then tossed into the audience, something like 15 years ago or more.
Eww!
Hope it’s not a self-defrosting freezer (all those defrost cycles put a lot of wear & tear on what’s in there, especially ice cream).
As for me, I love the parodies. the later ones are much better than the early ones. The Pentiums song, Pretty Fly for a Rabbi, etc. You can see he’s done his homework on his subject matter in every case. But his original songs? Definitely not to my taste.
no way man…
gangsta paradise > amish paradise
american pie > the saga begins
another one bites the dust > another one rides the bus
smells like teen spirit > smells like nirvana
lump > gump
…in my not so humble opinion (:
wierd al’s the s**t
heheheh
Weird Al is certainly something different and unique. I used to be obsessed with him, but even now that I’m more into rock than parodies and insane polka, he still earns a special place in my book.
“You don’t love me anymore” is an amazingly funny song. Check it out!
