Water Question.

Why is water wet?

It can’t help it.

But wait a while, and it’ll be dry again.

What will be dry again?

Ice is made of water, right? But it’s not wet. Weird, huh?

warm ice is.

And water is wet because it’s a liquid. And it’s a liquid because of hydrogen bonds. And it has hydrogen bonds because of the hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen bonds form between hydrogen and oxygen, nitrogen and…fluorine I think.

Woot! Honors chemistry!

Water is wet because when you get it on your skin it starts to evaporate and you body senses the temperature change

Ice doesn’t evaporate, it just melts :stuck_out_tongue:

Particle Man

When he’s underwater does he get wet? Or does the water get him instead…

Then how do you explain freeze-drying? Ice can evaporate given the right conditions.

Re: Water Question.

if u can tell me how long a piece of string is ill tell you why water is wet

String theory = infinite?

Did you know that water gets wetter when there’s soap in it?

I knew it can go from a solid to gas directly, I just meant it melts when you put it in your hand.

Ice isn’t slippery. It’s actually the thin sheet of water that melted on top of it that seems slippery.

Re: Re: Water Question.

Twice the distance from the middle to the end, now you have to answer my question.

Re: Particle Man

Nobody knows, Particle man.

If you put a candy coating over the ice, like an m&m, then it won’t melt in your hand.

But it will melt in your mouth.

If you get ice in a 32/0 degree and below room it will be cold, but not wet.
