WANTED: A portable Unicyle? Collapsable

WANTED: a lightweight portable unicycle.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has heard about any portable unicycles that
could fold up to be carried easily?

I have a conventional one but wished that the seat could fold up, and somehow
the big wheel could fold up so I could carry the thing in a case.

I’m sure that someone with an engineering background, could make a solid core
wheel that could just fold up along with the stem and seat, just like an
umbrella or something.

It would be useful for those who wish to commence riding short distances but
don’t really feel like carrying a full scale unicyle around (especially good for
buskers who must get up and move -especially in rough areas where military
policee will kick them out)

Anyhow, I am still waiting for the right moment to try the 6 footer… might be
a while though:)

The only thing I’ve seen certainly isn’t very portable. DM’s wonderful 5 to 8
foot convertable giraffe comes in its own carrying case, since the various
extension poles and chains need storing etc. But you wouldn’t want to carry it
further than…say 3 feet?

How about making the whole uni inflatable?

when I travelled around the world with my unicycle… I had a strap, not unlike
the ones you get on a large sports bag. I hooked one end over the peddal and the
other end around the seat post, I could then swing the uni over my shoulder or
on to my back like a back pack. Excellent when walking with limited hands
(eating lunch and drink in other hand!) etc. When I got on to a bus and they
disapproved of the uni(or was picked up hitchhiking), The quick release lever on
the seat post easily split the uni in two, I place the post through the spokes
and past the axle and the seat was neatly placed next to the shoulder of the
forks. Then… with the afore-mentioned strap, I bound the two together and it
became a carry on wheel sized package!

I did this uni-hitchhiking for two years thru several countries and it
worked a treat.

I must be missing something. My unis are all small, light and wheeled. They are
easily carried and even more easily rolled. Why would want to collapse one?
