Wal mart has some 26" tubes that are called ‘self sealing’. i don’t know what’s in them, Slime maybe? But they are quite a bit heavier than regular tubes. They are $15cdn so I don’t want to buy them hoping they would be as good as they seem. Any experience with them?

I put one in my 20" and have ridden over glass and nails and such, and
haven’t flattened the tire. I don’t know if the self-sealing bit was doing
its stuff or not, though. I didn’t check for objects in the tire. I
personally don’t try to shave weight off my uni because I need it to hold
up under me, and I shift the weight savings duty to shaving weight off of
myself.
I did slime my Fireball the other day, and it didn’t seem to diminish the
hopping capabilities of it.

i just meant…‘they’re heavier…so they must be full of something, or thicker rubber, or both.’ I think I’m gonna try it out.
Is the base of the valve (the harder rubber circle that is affixed to the tube) very wide? I ask this because the DH tube I bought was unable to fit in my rim because of this circle.
I bought one in the 20" size, so far so good!
I bought a tube there last summer and the pin in the valve broke the first time I tried to inflate it!
