RE: vote unicycle!

Looks to me like people are voting like maniacs! At 10:00am
there were only 42 votes!

Well, it looks to me that the recumbent guys
have stuffed the ballot box. They have almost as
many votes as mountain bikes! But the
                            one-wheel-per-rider categories are lagging. Get
                            in there and vote uni.

120? The recumbents aren’t the only ones stuffing. When I first looked this
morning, unicycles were at 24!

RE: vote unicycle!

Uh oh, I just looked again (a light day at the office), and unicycle are in
second place! Who’s the culprit and how did you put in 1000 votes?

I think we are doing better than that!

Question: If you could only have one bike, what would it be?

Road 1948 Votes / 23.69% Recumbent 1027 Votes / 12.49% Hardtail Mtn 705 Votes /
8.57% Full Suspension Mtn 335 Votes / 4.07% Tandem 84 Votes / 1.02% Unicycle
4123 Votes / 50.15% Total Votes: 8222

Re: vote unicycle!

Back in the old days of computers with only Basic (late 70’s) there was a local
phone poll that sevaral of us wanted to swing. After dialing and listening to 5
seconds of instructions, you would hit ‘1’ for yes, ‘2’ for no. We made up a
short but sweet program to get our trusty $499 Hays 300 modems to:

10 Rem: Not actual verbiage, it has been a long time 20 Rem: Brain cells
probably lost along the way… 30 Dial number 40 If busy signal, hang up,
Goto 30 50 If connect, with 5 seconds, send ‘1’ tone 60 Hang up 70 Go to 30

With 3-4 of us doing this, no one else could get through and the result was
something like 1000 to 5. We swung it a bit too much…

If anyone complains that we’re cheating, we’ll tell them that we were practicing
our virtual idling.

Re: vote unicycle!

Wow, you guys are doing very well. In the 2 hours since I voted, unicycles have
gone from 120 votes to 788! And in the same time, recumbents and mountain bikes
each only increased by 9. They may figure out that they’re supposed to use
cookies to prevent this, but until then, onward.

—Nathan

PS In the 5 minutes that I spent typing this, the uni vote went from 788 to
883!!! I only voted 3 times since I only own 3 unis.
