Re: Virtual Keyboard!

It makes my fingers ache just to think about it – wouldn’t this be really
hard on your hands?

I guess it wouldn’t be the keyboard you use most of the time – but that
would make it harder to justify paying too much for it.

Re: Virtual Keyboard!

Have you seen this one? It’s flexible and waterprof. It can be rolled up like a burrito for storage (upper left image).

Actually, if you take any keyboard apart, you get what’s in this image.
All this company has done is remove the outer shell, and they sell it
for much much more than a normal keyboard.

This keyboard and the virtual keyboard are not very comfortable on the
hands. I’ve used this one. Try typing on a flat surface right now, it
could get painful after a while.

I don’t guess you would have to actually “bang” your fingers hard enough to
make them hurt.

no, because your fingertips would be coming down onto a hard surface,
whereas with a keyboard they’d be coming down onto spring-mounted keys
that absorb some of the force (shock).

The best scenario is a laptop-type keyboard, where the keys are spring
mounted, but don’t have much “travel” (the distance the key has to be
pressed down).

I’ve been searching for a full-size, low-travel keyboard. Still haven’t
found one…

Re: Virtual Keyboard!

I definitely do like laptop keyboards. They just feel so much better and
aren’t as noisy. hmm…I figure there’s got to be one out there considering
so many people would like them. If not maybe we have an invention on our
hands. We already spilled the beans though, damn someones probably off to
the patent office tonight…
