Selling a vintage 24-inch Miyata Flamingo unicycle. Miyata is legendary in the unicycling world for their incredible Japanese build quality and durability. This is a certified Japan Unicycle Association model.
Features:
Wheel Size: 24 inches (great for adults, taller teens, or distance riding)
Frame & Chrome: Original Miyata steel frame with classic Flamingo graphics.
Saddle: Original Miyata saddle with front/rear protective bumpers.
Condition: [Excellent condition, e.g., Excellent shape with minor scuffs from light use / completely original with excellent tire tread].
Perfect for collectors, nostalgic riders, or anyone looking for a unicycle built to last a lifetime.
Price: $150 Payment: Cash (local pickup only)
Value Breakdown by Condition:
Fair to Good (Well-Used): $100 – $135. Typical for 1980s or 1990s models with minor rust on the chrome, scuffs on the bumper, or a worn tire. (A vintage 1980s 24" Miyata recently sold on eBay for $135).
Excellent to Mint: $150 – $250. For a unicycle with pristine original decals, flawless chrome or paint, and a completely intact original Flamingo saddle. Collectors or enthusiast riders looking for a nostalgia piece will readily pay in this range. THIS UNICYCLE WAS PURCHASED BETWEEN 1984-1987 FOR BRIEF USE IN A JUGGLING CLUB.
What Drives the Value?
The Seat: The original Miyata saddle is the most valuable component. If the plastic bumpers or seat pan are cracked, the value drops significantly because finding original replacements outside of Japan is incredibly difficult.
This is a rare “quality” find. I am choosing to sell it at the bottom of the “excellent” value range to quickly sell it to someone who appreciates unicycles.
