Venture cranks

Looking to get some longer cranks for my 36 cause I wanna start climbing some hills big time on it.

Anyway, I have 114 Venture 2’s on it, and like them. No pedal inserts to spin (yay!) and I like the slim look of them and the 0 Q factor with my superwide hub.

Problem is, the crank length that I’m looking at, only comes in the plain Ventures (not 2’s), or United brand which I won’t buy.

So, my question is, the Venture 2’s are obviously better, but will the original Ventures hold up to plain ol’ road riding just as well? From what I’ve read it seems like people like them, but did see a fair number of people stripped them out or bent them, so I just wanna be sure.

Thanks!

I’ve had them (150s, ISIS version) for a year or so on my 29" muni with no problems at all. The cross section doesn’t seem very well thought out, with the material removed from the edges, where it provides the most stiffness, instead of the center, but they seem solid enough.

I have venture 150s, 125s, and 114s - no issue.

That’s what I wanted to hear. Thanks guys!
