I HATE winter! It sucks!
So cold… and no uni!
I honestly wish I were infinitely powerful so that a) I could ride a unicycle with a 1,000,000 inch diameter wheel, and b) so I could snap, crush, destroy, obliterate, demolish, dismantle (and all other synonyms!) all laws of the universe that freakin’ cause cold weather and snow!
And to think I still have 2 and a half months left of this
Okay, I think I’m fine now
Yup, winter sucks. Need for venting understood. When you can afford to move away, think carefully about where to…
I always find that winter (that time between mid October and early May) opens up lots of riding opportunities, those trails that were soupy muskeg swamps are now nice solid trails (or torturous hellish [if hell froze over] brutal terrain with hidden holes and false layers, it depends on the freezing conditions) and lakes and streams become smooth highways instead of barriers to your riding.
stud up, dress up, and go ride.
Learn to ski / snowboard?
Just been for a pleasant ride in sub zero temperatures with some ice on the ground, and the ruts and hoof prints in the path frozen solid. The 14 and 17 year old lads I took with me only learned to ride in August, this was their first “muni trip”, and they had good fun.
Or as tholub likes to say:
“There is no bad weather. There is only bad gear (clothing).”
