User Control Panel / Subscribed Threads

Okay, maybe I’m just dumb, but I never paid attention to the “Subscribed Threads” list when you click on user cp. I looked at it once, but it only showed a few threads (which was puzzling because I didn’t bother to think about it – and I never looked at it again).

I always relied on the email notifications (and my memory) to find threads in which I’ve posted that have new activity.

I’m going to get a big “duh” from a lot of people (maybe), but did you know that you can get a list of threads that you’ve subscribed to (posted to) that have new replies?

Just go to the User Control Panel and scroll down. It is set for one day. If people have replied today to a thread you’ve posted in (or subscribed to), it will show up in the list. If you want to include threads from the past two days (for example), you can select “last 2 days” in the drop-down under the list.

It is soooooo convenient. Imagine that… having the computer do all the work for you. They are just so good at remembering things!

Re: User Control Panel / Subscribed Threads

It’s worth evaluating, but I eventually turned the feature off. Got sick of being pinged 30 times a day to go check some thread I’d posted to, only to find the new “post” was yet another content-void piece of drivel or “Hey, look at me! I’m posting!” message from the elementary school faction.

I know I lose track of some threads now, but don’t really care. The clutter in my In Box has been reduced, and I’m no longer spending chunks of my day in a pavlovian clicking response to the alert mails.

The Subscribed Threads list works (I assume) even if email notifications are turned off, so, this might be just what you need. If you haven’t looked at the forums in three days, you can ask it to list all the threads that have new posts within the last three days (that you have posted to).
