used unicycle

Hallo unicyclists,

My daugther will be 11 soon and she would like to have a unicycle for her
birthday. I called SemCycle in the Netherlands (I live in NL too) but found the
price for a new unicycle a bit stiff for something I’m not sure that my daughter
will have enough perseverence to master. So I scanned this newsgroup for used
unicycles but found none.

Any advice?

Klaas Bil

Re: used unicycle

Yes!

I have a used Semcycle XL That is in pretty good shape. The tire needs to be
trued and the pedals could be replaced or fixed ( they make little clicks) but
It is a great cycle. It is a 20 incher. Tell me what you think Klaas Bil

Have a look on the UK Unicycle Source web site, we sell new chrome unicycles for
as little as £53 (aprox 80 Eu) and I have just checked carriage costs to NL for
a 16" would be £23.20 (aprox 36 Eu). Delivery would be aprox 3 day.

The payment site is designed to accept payments in $ and Eu, as well as £’s so
there is not a crippling credit card surcharge.

If you are interested Klaas contact me and I will add the appropriate carriage
button to the site at it is not a standard one.

Cheers

Roger

Re: used unicycle

Kip,

I’m new to the unicycling world. Is the XL the professional model? Sem Abrahams
told me it costs about Dfl 450 here. The simpler model (good enough for me) is
Dfl 299. But in itself an XL wouldn’t hurt if the price is right. Questions:
What do you ask for it, either Dfl or $? FYI: 1 US$ = Dfl 2.10. If we make a
deal, how do we handle shipping and payment? (I live in the Netherlands.) Can it
be adjusted sufficiently? My daughter’s height is 140 cm, i.e. about 4’7".

Re: used unicycle

Well Klaas,

I dont know. Mine is the simpler model. It does go for aroung $150 or 315 Dfl
here. I think that maybe you’d be better off getting it closer to home, I am in
Colorado USA and shipping would probably be more than you or I are willing to
pay, but I may be wrong. I listed the uni on www.ebay.com ( an internet auction)
and it fetched $96.00 or 201 Dfl. But the buyer was to pay shipping. Obviously I
didnt sell it. Make me an offer and I tell you what I think. Okay?

Thanks

Jacob
