what’s ‘a fifth’

about 14 bucks if you know the guy behind the counter.

according to google…
it’s 26.5 fluid ounces, which is about 3 1/4 cups. or 750 ml
Whichever comes first.

ahhhh a 26r  thanks

1/5 gallons.

actually, that raises a new quesion…

who the hell drinks 1/5???

I’m more of a 1/12 kinda guy

How many 1/12 do you drink at a sitting?

is only hard liquor measured in ‘a fifths’

would you call a 750ml beer ‘a fifth’?

several, if i’m trying to understand what Leo is saying

Heck if I know, but it looks like it’s just hard liquor. I was thinking beer.

It would be a perfect amount of beer, though.

Google says that a fifth in the UK is a shot.

I’m actually having a 1.18L beer right now, and I disagree

a “fifth” in US terms is 1/2 of a gallon of hard liquor. or metrically 750mL. also the “regular size bottle”. i don’t know what you canadians call it. pretty much only applies to hard liquor though.

Depends on the occassion.

tuesday

EDIT: rewritting. lol

a fifth of a litre is 500ml

dang…damn booze…a fifth of a liter is 200ml

Its already been said, but a fifth (1/5th of a gallon) is 750ml of alcohol. In most cases, a fifth of alcohol is enough to get most people drunk. It is also only referred to hard alcohol like gin, etc. A fifth is about 25 ounces. Pop is sold most commonly in 20 and 24 ounce bottles. I’m sure you can picture the size of a fifth pretty well now.

Most kids though, are actually drinking either a pint (16oz or 473ml), or an eighth (4oz or 125ml) and then when back from the party or whatever and are somewhat sober, will brag all about the 5th of vodka they drank that night.

I meant to put gallon. :stuck_out_tongue:

i meant to put 200ml :stuck_out_tongue:

4-6 oz is enough to get most people drunk. A fifth in one sitting is enough to get most people dead.

Ouch, you guys are crazy with those non-metric measurements :stuck_out_tongue:
