Also, my assignment is due tomorrow, so I need a fast answer please

[EDIT]

http://forums.gamershell.com/index.php?act=ST&f=85&t=18957
It has a list to alot of alternative programs

Sorry, you guys can just let the thread die

Get OpenOffice.org

The OpenOffice.org suite includes a program called Impress that does Powerpoint style presentations.

But the computer you use to give the presentation will also need Impress installed unless there is a way to save it as a Powerpoint in Impress.

Oh no! Are you sure?
:astonished:  :frowning:
nooooooooooo!!!

Oh, on the website it says “Supports .ppt and many other formats”

if you arent opposed to bittorrents I’m sure that you can get it.

There are ways around that requirement. Here’s a blurb from the features of Impress:

So you can save it as a PowerPoint. Just be sure to test it on PowerPoint before doing the presentation live.

Ok, thanks

Along with a rootkit or a bot.
Warez are getting more dirty. More of them are embedding bad things along with the warez. If you just google for a torrent you risk getting it from an untrustworthy source.

You can get a free PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft that will allow you to play back your presentation. It’s just a viewer. It won’t let you edit or create the presentation. You can use it as a sanity check to make sure your presentation created with Impress will play back in PowerPoint.

Oh thats a good idea, Ill probably do that if I have time…
Thanks

Thats mainly from warez sites though, and happens with users who dont have much internet common sense.

Im not going to a weird looking torrent site with lots of pron advertisments, look for Photoshop CS3, see thats its only a couple hundred kbs or a few megs, and download that. That is just asking for trouble.

I go to a trusted torrent site, and find CS3 and find a size that is around 1-500megs, and get that one.

The things to really lookout for are small file sizes for something that you know should be a couple hundred megs or a few gigs, and video torrents. Lot of people mess with movies and videos.
