Upgraded tire

The tire that came with my club 24 felt like it was collapsing under me even when inflated to max psi so I swapped in a Schwalbe pick-up 24 x 2.35 and it feels way better. Im able to run 40 psi so I get some cushion but it feels stable under me. At 210 pounds before gear im putting a good amount of weight on about 2 square inches.

Fancy ride, like the colors.

Actually, the tire contact area for any tire is calculated by dividing the load by the tire inflation pressure. In your case that would be 210lbs/40psi=5.25 in2 .

interesting, does this work the same on a bicycle?

Yes, same for all pneumatic tires.

How’s the clearance with that tire? Looks sort of close in the picture … cool colors!

Ive got about 1/4 inch at the top and a little more on the sides.

This is my upgraded tire

Nice work!

How does it ride? The seam appears to be rather prominent, do you feel it when riding? Or just hear it?

There was a slight bump at first, I don’t know if I got used to it or it wore out the tread enough to smoothen it. But right now it’s awesome, road camber isn’t an issue anymore and it’s much lighter than the nightrider and feels faster too

Which tire is that?

That’s two chaoyang 29x2.2 tires sewn and glued together

I was told I should do a tutorial for this but it’s not easy to show on camera. But I’ll bring some supplies to STOMP this year and teach anyone who’s interested
