It’s only a week and a half until the National Unicycle Convention in =
Toronto (July 16th to 22nd). We’re putting the final arrangements =
together, and we’re determined to make this the most enjoyable NUC yet. =
We’re even beginning to have fun organizing it!

We’re not planning to mail out confirmations to the participants. Your =
cancelled check is your confirmation that we received your registration. =
If you’re in any doubt, please e-mail us at groves@pobox.com. Most of =
the information you need to get to the Convention is now on our web site =
at http://torontounicyclists.tripod.com/tnucmain.htm. There’s a map =
showing the location of Humber College and the hotels and campground =
we’ve advertised for the convention, along with driving directions from =
the airport and major highways. There’s also a detailed schedule of the =
week’s events on the web site and if you haven’t registered yet, there’s =
a Registration Form there.

We now have several workshops scheduled. Connie Cotter will be giving a =
workshop on artistic judging on Monday morning, just before the artistic =
events. John Foss is conducting two workshops, one on the new Open-X =
competition on Monday afternoon, and another on promoting unicycling =
through unicycle clubs on Tuesday morning. David Stone and Joe Merrill, =
both unicyclists from New York City, are giving a workshop on Inner City =
Unicycling on Wednesday morning, just before the downtown trip. Kris =
Holm is providing a workshop on Unicycle Trials Techniques and on the =
new Trials Rating System on Friday. Other workshops will be given by =
Nathan Hoover on new unicycle technology, and there are some other =
possibilities that are still tentative. =20

Carl has recently updated the mountain unicycling web page at =
http://www.mountainunicycling.com/nuc2001 to include detailed times and =
descriptions of the Muni events and an explanation of the =
non-competitive format of the trials events. There will be the =
opportunity for all NUC participants to experience trials equipment from =
simple to advanced, and to help determine a consistent set of ratings =
for Kris Holms’ newly proposed IUF Observed Unicycle Trials rules.

If you’re a registered competitor and haven’t yet sent in your Events =
Registration Form, you can do it on-line at =
http://www.mountainunicycling.com/nuc2001/registration/. We have been =
asked by a number of people if dorms are still available at Humber =
College. If you let us know by Thursday evening (July 5th), we can =
guarantee a single room for you. After that, you can get one if there’s =
still one available, but there are no guarentees.=20
