Just a note to say that Unizaba has won a film award. It was screened last week at the Vancouver
International Mountain Film Festival, and won the Jury award for Best Film.
Perhaps not so significant as Canada’s butt-kicking of a certain hockey team yesterday, but still
kinda cool.

If you have a DVD player, the best way to get just Unizaba is to buy Fat
Tire Fury (New World Disorder II). Unizaba is included as a “special
feature”. You can get this DVD online from many places. I recommend http://www.digitaleyesdvd.com/Details.cfm?info=TE0021DVD (only $13.97).
I was in the audience last night in Santa Cruz at the Banff Mountain Film
Festival and Unizaba kicked off the second night of films. It got a great
response. I love watching it in a large audience of non-unicyclists.

$13- that’s a deal! Are there any differences in the version on the One Tired Guy tape and the New World Disorder DVD? How long is Unizaba? I was told 'Tired Guy was only 20 minutes…
Don’t let the 5-2 score fool you! team USA was in the game till the very end. After 50 years without very much olyimpic sucesse I guess that they were due…
A better question might be will a canadian hockey team be ready to compete at UNICON?
Congrats Kris. I must say that I love those videos. I bought New World
Disorder, Fat Tyre Fury and One Tired Guy on VHS. We can get the New World
Disorder videos here, but I had to email Freeride to get them to send One
Tired Guy out to me.

Congratulations on the award, Kris. And congratulations on the game, my northern neighbors. Dylan, try to remember that you also are an American. (Heat it up.) Your Logo is very nice.
Unizaba is about 10 minutes long. There is a little extra footage on the One
Tired Guy tape - I think it’s basically longer titles. The DVD is about 1
hour total and One Tired Guy is between 20 and 25 minutes. Get the DVD if
you want the best picture and sound; get the VHS if you want the other
mountain unicycling segments like Whitetrax and don’t care about the
mountain biking stuff. Both have Kris’s Fat Tire Fury segment.
One Tired guy links up several short films including my New World Disorder segments and Unizaba,
but it also has dialoge, and extra footage from New World Disorder and Unizaba that didn’t go in
the final films. It also has some new urban trials footage including a couple of good closeups of
hard pedal grabs, and a short film (Whitetrax) on unicycling down ski moguls and in the
backcountry. Total length is just under 25 minutes.
Film quality compared to DVD is similar to the difference between watching a mainstream movie on
DVD compared to VHS- in other words the quality is good, but there’s slightly lower screen
resolution.
Cheers,
Kris.

I would recommend the VHS One Tired Guy, although I’m sort of thinking of getting the DVD since I already have the tape. I just can’t imagine how people one two wheels can ride obstacles like Kris does.
Anyway, Skilleto and Whitetrax are good, and you don’t get those with the DVD. Also, the commentary by Kris in between the segments, and those pedal grabs he mentioned are both very cool. Overall, One Tired Guy is a quality video, with awsome footage.

Thanks for the positive comments!
One other reason to get the One Tired Guy video, for those people who want a copy of Unizaba,
instead of the DVD:
Most of the mainstream companies, both bike and bike related, view any unicycle-specific products
with skepticism as to whether they are a good business venture. It was a pretty big leap of
faith for Freeride Entertainment to go to the startup expense to produce One Tired Guy (several
thousand dollars), as they sell tens of thousands of New World Disorder Videos and One Tired Guy
video sales hardly compare to that. By getting OTG instead of the NWD DVD, it helps show that
there’s a viable market for these kinds of videos, and by extension, that there’s a viable market
for producing other unicycle-specific products.
Of course I hope people buy it just because they like it, not for any other reason, but I thought
this might be worth mentioning.
